Hello friends,

And thank you for checking out another original tune of mine. This week I've been working to build up my personal repertoire of performance ready tunes, which I believe is one of the most important goals for every aspiring guitarist. This song entitled "Sail the Moon" is one that I wrote over 10 years ago as a gift to my wife Natalia. I hope you enjoy it!

Rob, this song is hauntingly beautiful with such a stunning selection (and progression) of gorgeous chords. I was gripped listening to you and also by watching you play. To see you use what you teach in your original song is so inspiring. I agree with Pam, hoping that you've recorded this song. So far, it's my favorite. That Natalia is a pretty special inspiration!

Hey Dawn! Glad to hear from you this evening. Thanks for your positive feedback, I’ve been meaning to get back to this tune for a while. It’s true, Natalia has inspired many songs over our 13 years together. I’ll post my original recording soon, but I think I’d like to re-record this with my new band. Thanks for the feedback Dawn!

Rob....B & W takes me back to Spin and Marty, Roy and Trigger, Rick Nelson and fam.....very mellow tune and your, not so easily fingered, chord changes were perfect.

Great Song! Thanks for sharing. Is that one chord you hit where you bar at the 5th fret-

Anonymous

What is that one chord at the 5th fret- the "complicated" one where you hammer -on?

swiftlessons

Hey Phil, I assume you're talking about the Fmajor chord in "C position." Those C shape bar chords are a bit of a pain but they can be extremely useful.

swiftlessons

Thanks Phil, really happy with how this video and recording came out. Glad you enjoyed it. That chord is the C shape of Fmaj: X87565.

Thank you Scott, so glad you enjoyed the tune. Now you've got me watching old Spin and Marty episodes haha!

Oh - now I see it. Thanks! I guess I didn't recognize it bc I kind of discarded that chord long ago- I always struggled with it. I usually "dance around it" one way or another. I'm going to work on that one and see if I can start using it.
