Hello friends,

Thanks to a special request from your fellow Patron Suiyang, I've updated and re-posted my tab, and chord sheet for my "advanced" rendition of the Ben E. King classic "Stand By Me." In this tutorial, I break down how to merge the tunes iconic bassline with a percussive strumming pattern, and make use of some Hendrix style licks to create an instrumental section. Let's get started!

In this lesson, I'll revamp a previous tutorial on Ben E. King's 1962 classic "Stand By Me." This time around, I'll be showing you a more advanced version that features percussive strumming, and embellishments taken from Lloyd Trotman's iconic bassline. For the more advanced viewers, I'll also demonstrate how you can solo over this tune with some Jimi Hendrix inspired licks. The instruction is going well The rhythm patterns and the transitions.. my voice a bit thin singing it in A...I practice to Paul Dwyers version on u tube..My point I don't particularly like your instrumental...incongruent with a 50s sound, my opinion, Dwyer has a more congruent solo..which Personally would love to learn.

So good, Rob. Been playing the earlier version and am thrilled to be able to add the embellishments and licks for soling (even though, for me, they're a bit over my head...something to strive for). It's all good!
