Hello Premium Patrons,

This evening I'm working on a revamped lesson and tablature for Dave Van Ronk's "Green Green Rocky Road". This will be a premium lesson using my current format, meaning it will include a full demonstration and more in-depth instruction.

In the meantime, help yourself to the attached tablature and get started using my 2014 lesson. In this tutorial, I break down the guitar parts that Dave sang over. Note that he essentially played the same parts during the instrumental, but throws in some rhythmic and melodic embellishments. Let's get started!

Green Green Rocky Road - Guitar Lesson - Dave Van Ronk, From Inside Llewyn Davis

More Free Lessons and Guidance at http://Facebook.com/phillyguitarlessons As heard on the Inside Llewyn Davis Soundtrack, available on vinyl http://amzn.to/1qYpn0k Tablature of each section available at http://imgur.com/m2NnfL8 One of the most my most requested lessons, Green Green Rocky Road is a challenging finger-picking piece made famous by the late great Dave Van Ronk. Like many of Dave's famous recordings, he is not the original composer of the tune, however it is his arrangement that has become the definitive version. Green Rocky Road was recently featured on the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack, where it is performed both by Dave Van Ronk and Oscar Isaac. In this video, I break down the basic movements, divided the composition into various sections. Different performances have featured several variations, but hold true to the general theme presented in this tutorial.
