Lev is one of those characters that will take me a long time  to like. My attitude towards him borders on a combination of Kenma's and Yamamoto's current feelings. Does anyone like him at the start?

A bit of context for the OVAs. Like others said it stands for Original Video Animation. The idea is that its a bonus episode that doesn't air on normal TV. Usually they are bonus episodes if you buy a DVD/Blu ray set of the show, or sometimes they bundle them with limited edition versions of the comic and things like that. Sometimes if they don't have a physical release and are just online they can be called ONAs for Original Net Animation. Similarly all of the physical comics (at least in the Japanese releases) have little bonus scenes in the back. Often its just a fun joke (like the characters here playing the video game), but some of them have stuff like the authors All Star team. They also made a couple of bonus chapters of the comic that take place years after the main story ends to commemorate things like real games and the 10th anniversary of the series. So generally they aren't necessary for the story and don't progress the plot much, but are fun bonus content for fans of the series.

In case Adam wanted to know the name of the game they were playing, i think its a reference to Monster Hunter
