I do like that there were hints about the Elder Tsukki from Saeko. She says earlier in the season that she went to school when the Little Giant was the Ace AND she remembers going to school with a Tsukishima as well. So the fact that he wasn't the ace was already hinted at by two off hand comments.

I just want to add, just because his brother wasn't the ace doesn't mean he wasn't doing all the team practices and staying late for all the extra practice too. As we see everyone in the club is expected to do that even if they are not regulars, so I don't think he was lying about the practice and lunches necessarily
