Oh my gosh, this was the most annoying copyright-evading experience of my life! I'm so sorry for the delay, but we had to make some adjustments we don't typically make to get this one up. Anywayssssss....

I totally get not liking the phrasing that coach nekomata uses about "Greedily proclaiming that you are the best," but it is part of a very interesting discussion Haikyu has about the role ego plays in sports, and especially team sports. Because you only win when you play as a cohesive part of a team, but there is no great athlete who achieves success who doesn't have some degree of ego.

I don't think anyone would have argued against the fact that Hinata jumping for Asahi's ball was the wrong move or that it wasn't greedy. What everyone argued against was the stance that Hinata shouldn't work to get better on his own without Kageyama. Any player would want that.

I don't disagree with you. There definitely has to be some ego involved if someone if trying to be the best at something. I just felt that there had to be some sort of translation error because it comes across as so icky to me

Is that what it is though? I can totally understand Kageyama saying he needs to work on his other skills because quite frankly, he's pretty bad at them right now.
