Monsters, Misguided Book 2 Chapter 1 RAWdio (Patreon)

Finally starting work on this behemoth! This is part 1 of chapter 1, clocking in at nearly 12 minutes!

The dialogue you hear with my voice will eventually be subbed out for different VAs later in production! I tried to come up with some recognizable differences on the fly for clarity's sake. This is why Gallois turns a bit more posh later on in the recording, once she starts sharing more speaking space with Anya, as they both started with a kind of deadpan tone.

As I said on Twitter, I don't think this one is gonna have a monster breakdown. It may seem a bit odd to take a series that's backbone is the monster talk and take that away, but I wanted a more narrative focused episode to premiere Book 2 with. Due to that, the monster breakdown would get in the way of the narrative and throw of the momentum. A momentum that I now realize would go out the window if I uploaded this as two parts.

The first part would be very setup-heavy, as you can hear with this recording, while the second part would be almost all action. I figured a split like that is best viewed in one piece. So, I'm taking the time to get this all done as one. As it's turning out, it very well could be 20-22 minutes like I originally aimed for, not the 30-35 that I thought it'd be while writing the script.

On the topic of voice actors, I think I'm going to be taking reel emails after I put together some character profiles for people to audition for! This is all really new to me, as I've always handled all edges of production for my work, but I think giving these characters different actors would really bring some authenticity to the video. After all, it's the Book 2 premiere, I want it to be as impactful as it can be!
