May 2021 Update (Patreon)

Hey y'all,

Hope April was kind to everyone on the way out. May is looking like it's gonna be a bit of a slower month for us, with June being the one where everything happens. So, on that note!

-The main focus for PBH has been and still is finishing up Chapter 1! We're really close to having it complete - the most time-consuming part left is implementing the GUI. But, there's a largely-playable build that we've been using for testing, which means it's pretty far along. Of course, this is just the first chapter out of six, but still, it's always the beginning that takes the longest to do, since most of the groundwork for the rest of the game has to be set up here.

In case you missed it, last week adi posted a new monthly PBH wallpaper! April's theme was "Teatime." You, our lovely patrons, can download it in a variety of sizes.

-Art progress on Lock and Key has started back up, as the script gets closer and closer to being done! Not too much we can show you there yet, but it's nice seeing new updates coming into our Drive.

-Heart of the Woods backer keys should be going out sometime in the next couple weeks. You may have seen our Kickstarter comment about it, but we had to submit a patch for the Switch version which ended up adding another couple weeks into the processing time. Amongst other things, there was a weird issue where skipping through Chapter 4 would result in a hard crash. Only on skip mode, only on Chapter 4. Still not sure what was causing that one myself.

-Next month, on June 17, Highway Blossoms will be celebrating its 5th birthday! We've got some Neat Stuff coming up for that as well, which you'll hear about then.

-Later this month, we'll be posting the conclusion to Cherry's Story here on Patreon! We hope you've enjoyed this lovely tale~ Like with Celeste Academy, it was a real pleasure for us to be able to work on some stuff outside our normal VN projects. We hope you've enjoyed Cherry and will be looking forward to the finale! Also, make sure to keep an eye out for more chapters of "Honorine's Run."

And with that, I think we've covered the main stuff. April wasn't quite as eventful as other months this year have or will be, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We'll talk to you again in a couple of weeks!
