April 2021 General Update (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

With March now safely in the history books, here's a recap of what we did last month.

-I got most of the way finished with drafting the Samayuuni common route! Some parts are left unwritten because they're just conversations, and we're going to talk more together at some point about character voices. For example, I may have mentioned this before, but I have to try hard to not make Hanna sound too much like Aspen when I'm writing, which is difficult since I'm working on both games simultaneously. The feedback from our new editor, Ari, has already been really helpful in fleshing out the universe and setting in the game. Theo and adi have been working on some of the art, like Quinn's intro CG and this "photo" of the group back in high school. It's meant to be a picture on the wall in Summer's bedroom, but we'll probably release it as a wallpaper too since the artists are working so hard on it. This is close to completion, with just the final pass to go.

-There hasn't been as much work done on Please Be Happy because of the time we've been spending on Samayuuni, but Theo's been making progress with the programming and it's coming along great! I'm going to be refreshing myself on PBH and where I was at, since it's been a few weeks since I last did some writing for it. Miho and Summer also have a lot in common as far as protagonists go, although they're also very different. Both have rather cheery personalities, but Summer's way more of a people person than Miho is. We're also going to be expanding the soundtrack a little bit more, so Sarah's working on three or four new songs. They're sounding pretty amazing so far.

-Heart of the Woods Kickstarter keys should be going out later this month, probably near the end. The actual release of the game should be happening in early summer, but backers will be able to play early. That's about all we can say on it right now, but we're so excited to finally get these out to you! We'll be putting up a survey on Backerkit so you can choose which region you want your key to be for. You'll be able to choose North America, Europe, or Asia, although Asia keys might take a little bit longer to receive.

-Celeste Academy came to an end, and Agatha has been chosen as Carida's true love! Stay tuned for the final posts, coming soon from Suriko. There'll be more to say on CA later, but it's been a long ride - thanks for participating in it with us!

-Finally, we released and quickly sold out of adi's Ridere. Artbook. All copies were gone within just a couple hours! I know adi is really happy with how well-received it was. The books and bonuses all turned out super nice. I'll be mailing them out to everyone who ordered in the next week or so~
