We're halfway through the month, and just a couple weeks from the spookiest of holidays. Personally, I'm one of those people who's more excited for the day after Halloween, when all the leftover candy goes on sale, but the holiday itself is pretty fun too.

The biggest stuff that's happened so far this month is stuff that unfortunately we can't talk about quite yet, but if it goes the way we expect it to will be really cool. We should know for sure by the time the next update rolls around in a couple weeks. Yes, I know that's vague, but that's the most I can say right now though. It's worth it though.

On Halloween, we'll also be releasing some new shirt designs by milkgrrl, which will be previewed in their own post here soon. There's one or two more spooky surprises that should be ready at the same time. Other stuff coming up soon on Patreon include a look at Miho's design from PBH and the logo for LAK, plus some new stories: the next chapter of Celeste Academy will be released soon, as well as the first parts of a brand new story written by Stella, our newest writer.

As far as our main projects go, the one with the most news to report is Please Be Happy. For one thing, the music to the game is pretty much done now. Sarah's finished all of the songs for it, and aside from polish and special touches, the OST is just about ready to go. Sarah's done an amazing job with it and I listen to the tracks a lot while writing the game just to get into the mood. Now that I think about it, there is still one very difficult task left as far as music goes: coming up with names for the songs. Right now, they're mostly just named after their role in the game, like "Quiet Moments" or "Juliet's Theme." Aspen's theme is called "The Girl Reading This" though and I think that's probably the best song title we've ever had.

Sprite work for PBH also just got finished as well! At first, we'd only gotten the default poses for each of the main characters done. We decided to ask Kobuta for a couple variations for arm positions and stuff, and those were just completed a couple days ago. Here's what they all look like together.

They're all amazing, but my personal favorite has to be Miho's rightmost one. In a lot of scenes, I try to think about how Miho's ears and tail would affect her body language compared to a normal human, so that'll also be fun to represent visually once we get to the actual scripting stage of things.

For Lock and Key, most of what I could share will actually be in a post of its own here in the next couple weeks, so I don't wanna spoil any of that. Same goes for Samayuuni. So I'll refrain from talking about both of those this time around.

Thanks for reading and for your support, and talk to you guys in a couple weeks. Take care!

Josh
