Carida lays in her bed, breathless. In pajamas and freshly showered, the last few hours seem even more vivid than before.

The moonlight filtering through the canopy and onto the forest floor, Lulina’s haunting voice echoing into the night, and the lights that swirled and spun around them… 

She closes her eyes. Her mind runs in circles and her heart beats loudly in her chest.

“There’s no such thing as a mistake”... Even if our date turned out to be a divine ritual, I’m happy I got to meet Lulina. Carida lets out a sigh. She wonders if they’ll meet again, if they’ll share a hot chocolate once the weather cools a bit more, and if Lulina is thinking of her tonight, too.

Her thoughts continue on a one-way path, making their way all the back to her initial meeting with the Love Witch.

If the Love Witch was serious, that means I’m almost halfway through. This next one… 

Feeling sleep evade her, Carida rolls over and digs her phone out from the nightstand, ignoring its cries for mercy as it reminds her of its low battery. I’ll be quick, she mentally placates the device.

In her divination classes, she learned of the magic of threes. They symbolize balance, growth, and choices.

Once more, three matches await her.
