Celeste Academy - Introduction (Patreon)

From the outside, the fabled Celeste Academy might seem like a perfectly normal university. 

In fact, in the islands of Nouveau, it really is just like any other. But unlike our world, universities here are focused on one very special discipline: Attunement. A unique form of magic, Attunement follows a core set of principles:

It cannot create matter or destroy it; its purpose is to modify objects and raw materials.

It cannot be used on sentient beings, except for oneself (to a limited degree).

Objects that have been modified by Attunement will exude a magical “aura” only detectable to practitioners of Attunement.

Those who practice this art are known as Attuned— or rather, they are once they’ve officially graduated.

Carida, a senior at Celeste Academy, is only a few months away from joining the ranks of these powerful magic users. She is a culinary student, having spent the last four years perfecting her craft in order to create exotic, flavorful dishes of varieties never before tasted by humans! . Naturally, some of those experiments/dishes/attempts end up being… less than ideal. But she’s not going to give! She dreams of becoming a true legend in the field of culinary Attunement, no matter how long it takes. And now, on the verge of heading out into the world, Carida has realized something very important: there’s no point in becoming a legend if she doesn’t have someone to share it with. 

To that end, she’s sought out the fabled Love Witch: a woman known to help young people find their true love. But she isn’t the kind of witch to toss you a love potion and send you on your way. Instead, she offers prophecies.

“Within the next year,” she tells Carida, “twelve choices will present themselves to you. Within those twelve, you will find your one true love.”

Armed with the confidence that only prophecy can bring, Carida has begun her search for the twelve women the Love Witch spoke of... and she knows exactly where to start looking.

I’m a former student of Celeste, and graduated as a Horticulture Attuned. I run a greenhouse near the campus that provides internships for students still attending the Academy, but I keep a private wing that I’d love to show to a special someone.
