Hey, got an evening off, nice.

More chapters next Saturday.

I'll delete the reuploads then as well and change the tiers again.

There was criticism regarding the pov changes and the time spent with characters other than Ilea. How do you feel about it, is it an issue/boring or does it add to the world building?

Mild spoilers below for 4$/2$ Patrons and probably in the comments, so be aware.

Please consider that these Pov changes are not planned to be a permanent thing, this isn't going to be GoT with 15 different PoVs that regularly change. It's just that in the current arc some of the characters are split up and have their own things happening. I wanted to do this to both build the characters and world up a little without having Ilea directly interact with everything. The chapters are released in singles/doubles or more, which creates the problem that it's annoying if all you get in a week is chapters without the main character. I get that.

Again, let me know what you think. I started writing this novel to create something I'd like to read and I'm obviously still learning. Feedback on things like this is highly appreciated and considering the mostly positive opinions, specific criticism is great for me to learn and improve.

Of course I want to avoid changing up the whole story because of single voices not liking specific things but at least I'll have it on the radar. When I write I sometimes think of the bigger picture and not like a reader currently in the chapter so things like this issue might get overlooked.

Prefer Ilea povs but hoping there's a plot payoff for those other characters you made me read. Like I don't see how Claire's can really effect the main story. Understand the need to check in with her group while they're all spread out.

sedael

multiple POVs is great honestly, helps the world building considerably

I don't mind many povs

Additional Povs are cool. I don't know why you needed to do reuploads for the other tiers. I've seen other authors handle this without the annoying emails.

I'm okay with other PoVs in general, the problem here is 2 fold. First: because we are reading small bits each week, rather than say sitting down to read a completed book, it takes us longer to get that "plot payoff" as someone else mentioned. Second: some of the PoVs we have us, or at least me, scratching our heads at their significance until something happens to give it context again. Dropping hints in switching PoVs on a weekly basis makes it easier to forget or overlook them and I personally less inclined to dig through emails or patreon to go back and read up than I would be to flip back a few pages. Sorry for the unformatted wall, mobile patreon is a bit of a pain for me.

I'm not a fan of additional povs in works that for a long time were just done with one pov. Best thing possible in my option is too use an Prologe and Epiloge written from a different perspective in each story arc and If more povs are needed an interlude every few capters. (every fifth capter at most.) But this story was very much single pov and should stay as such if you don't plan too make it into a 10000 pages epic.

Personally I strongly prefer Ileas chapters. I think the other PoVs works best when you stick a few longer together to form a full chapter. Also I think you should be returning to other characters only when things change significantly. “things are sill the same PoWs” are the most annoying for me.

I think doing a bonus chapter or two is a nice way to provide background and world building without slowing down the main story. Ideally forming a short story. This can be useful if you really want to cover something.

My biggest issue with the PoVs is the lack of a --- or **** as a page break. I use an app to read the chapters both on my phone and my pc and it interprets multiple empty lines as a single line

Tommy Littlefield

I’m fine with other povs as long as it doesn’t get excessive I think they are a good tool to let readers know what is going on outside of the main characters knowledge

Endoria

I don't care about the other POV if they are not tied directly into what Ilea is doing right now. Especially the Eve parts are kind of detached from the story and I don't really care what she is doing^^

Paul Pintea

I really enjoy the main character. Don't really care for the other POV's unless they drive the Ileas story forward. Having a side story really does not feel good with 2 chapters a week. I still really enjoy the Ilea chapters

I think they are fine as long as there is an eventual pay off. Eve and Ilea stories need to merge.

Baba Vader

This. Your pov seperation is lacking. Other than that it's fine to switch pov as much as you do, the payoff will be there. Keep going and once you are further into the book and the demon stuff is done and gone I will definitely reread your story in a few binge sittings. It's just too good to wait for chapters to build up, so don't worry about it for now.

Corwin Amber

I don't mind a few PoV's here and there. Especially if you continue to release multiple chapters at once. Maybe it would be easier to handle them if at least 1 of the chapters each week remains a Ilea chapter.

RhaegarRRL

Yea, I understand that changing something as basic as that isn't the way to go. Thanks for the feedback.

David Brims

Personally, I'm a big fan of one POV with at most a few other perspectives here and there.
