I can honestly say that my propensity towards punmaking began with my childhood experience of playing Adventure Quest and Dragonfable, flash games chuck full to the brim with puns. I've since then went on my way making merry wordplay, much to my friends and family's dismay. Tldr: Practice I guess. I get a kick out of making them since childhood.
