That's my problem with Ussop. He is highly capable but they make him stupid to drag the series. You know a perfectly accurate sniper is OP but they make him dumb as hell so the arc gets padded out.

Usopp is growing, back on punk hazard he went out in front of the normie guards and had his speech. Where before the 2 year he wouldn't have been able to do that. Usopp together with Nami gives the show a ground lvl, not that they are the weakest of everyone we see in the show. But they set a certain standard as to what a human in the One Piece world can archive if they are not "monsters" like sanji and zoro. You can hate if you want to, but why go after people for liking him :) and why go after Oda ? if you are still watching, my guess is that you like his writing.

way I see it, y'all are expecting some DBZ, hyperbolic shit outta Usopp. Guy is a regular ass man who got a nice shot. The hell is 2 years realistically gonna do? Not like he was training with Rayleigh or Mihawk, he ain't got no Haki to put on his shots.. He got nicer, got some power ups, but he still should rightfully be scared of Trebol, especially after what he just saw in the previous ep. I can wholly understand frustration at his character but I personally would much rather have his character be like this, set more on the grounds of realism, than what you guys are expecting. Just my opinion.

I get what you are saying put the scared argument doesn't really hold up when you are a shooter. If you are scared dump at somebody. I believe most people who are scared would shoot at the thing that is scaring them.

as a normal human in the One Piece world, that sounds like a surefire way to get yourself killed in a split second, to me. Like I said, I 100% get the frustration at his character at the moment, but you guys are expecting too much. All of Doffy's executives have been shown to be pretty strong, so why would he assume this one isn't?

I don't think people would shoot if they are afraid that it will just anger them and not really hurt them. But it is a big part of his character, and I'm not gonna tell you that you have to like him :) but asking for a change that big won't happen anytime soon.

Allram the difference is that nami isn’t a hitter she’s the op navigator but usopp is the sniper of the group he’s supposed to be a hitter maybe not as strong as sanji or zoro but at least in the league of franky bruh this nigga franky be more of a shooter than usopp how does that make any sense? If your gonna be part of a future pirate king crew then that means your gonna be fighting admiral level characters you can’t be a joke and be crying all the time you gotta get your hands up definitely if your the “sniper”

The Usopp scene being dragged out in the anime doesn't help his case. It was really frustrating. Post time skip Usopp is a bit disappointing. It feels like the "old" Usopp had more guts when it mattered even though he was weak and a scaredycat most of the time. One of my favorite moments is Usopp getting his skull cracked and then rising up like the Undertaker to stand up for his friends dream. I enjoyed Usopp's character more in the older arcs. Hopefully he gets his shine in the future.

That stuff still hurt fam. Usopp’s cursed with top tier survival instincts lol. Those instincts tell him not to fire at people stronger than him, because they’ll get up and murder him… I know he’ll get his arc and his glow up, but until then, I wouldn’t expect too much out of him (in terms of power, he’ll always have clutch moments. That said, I did hate him in this arc. I feel like pre-time skip Usopp wouldn’t have let things go as far as he did. So it definitely feels like Oda went back on some of his character growth, just so Usopp could have his post-time skip “getting over his fear and acting when it really counts” moment.
