Luffy facing off against the 3 admirals is one of the coldest moments for me and the way they animated him is lit. You know he has no chance even against one of them but he still charges in by himself and is ready to face all 3 of them. It's just the perfect representation of who Luffy is. If you look up the definition of giant balls you gonna find a picture of Luffy. He gonna do anything if it's to save someone he cares about.

Either way its interesting to see the dynamics of the different whitebeard squads. Marco the doc, jozu was like the armored squadron i think… stuff like that cool lil worldbuilding

As much as this hurts, it feels to me like this whole setup is an example of why Sengoku is in the place of leadership that he is. The Navy’s plan here was bloodthirsty, but they planned for the Whitebeard Pirates coming in. They clearly had several steps in place that included weakening Whitebeard with Squard, drawing them all into the bay, etc. Luffy and the impel down prisoners coming in obviously threw them, but oh well, in for a penny in for a pound. Then you have Luffy changing the tone of the whole war despite being the “ant in the storm.” You guys have hit on this a few times, but it’s such good writing. Luffy is for sure out of his depth here, but he is changing the game regardless.

Yoooo I'm so glad Heatah pointed out that specific animator that appeared again! Idk their name but their style is very noticeable with that "fluid" type thing they do like here with Luffy and the water, or with him and Magellan. And yeah they def worked on that fight with Goku and Jiren, nice catch.

GOOD EYE BRO, the animator is Naotoshi shida one of my favorite animators at toei, they will use him for a lot of high paced scenes. In dragon ball super they did use him in the Scene right after Jiren attacked gokus friends and family and also when he went ultra instinct for the first time and he bounced off the pillar to try to land the final blow.

Y'all really are too smart for this show but I love it lol! Luffy's VA really a real one her voice shakes my spirit Quick thing about the water tho, Oda's said in a q & a before that df users can move if the water is "flowing" or running water (rain, waves, shower, etc) or if it's not past their upper leg area I believe. So everybody could use their df when Luffy jumped over (including Luffy) it was just a distraction mostly like you said. Small nitpick just don't want you to get confused someday later! Keep up the amazing work love yall fr

Just a side note, haki and devil fruit abilities vary depending on the user. You can give two people the same fruit but their strength will determine how strong it is. Haki is pretty much the same, it's a scale.

that is not true…? Haki does definitely change but a devil fruit’s power is the same for whoever eats it… you can make the fruit stronger like luffy, but the fruit doesn’t change strength depending on who eats it

You just proved the point. Crocodile stated that he had honed his abilities to perfection, you don't get to utilize devil fruits (more specifically paramecia and logia) to their full potential right away. A part of it is your capabilities (Luffy post...., and that island that rhymes with monk). Laws room and stamina is another example. You can't give buggy the hie hie no mi and expect him to be able to do the level of stuff that aokiji did.

The water takes away the DF power at around Knee-High. we learned this in the prison cell of Crocodile. Which in my opinion is very ironic since Crocodile DF's natural weakness is Water.
