Isayama goated, honestly its just a big mind fuck when you think about future eren finessing current eren, and eren finessing grisha. For example erens laughing breakdown at sashas death. Future eren didnt show present eren that because eren doesn’t want any of his friends to die. But Takkae Takkae, you have to keep moving forward. Pops kill these kids, I lost friends. We never knew how much of a psychopath eren was until now. Everything is adding up. Ymirs Backstory is so rough bruh, all she ever wanted was some love, her getting some pupils when eren was finally that person 2000 years later what a chefs kiss bruh, keep up the great reactions himeys.

Eren was probably the first person to give Ymir some kind of choice, a chance to exercise free will. He gave her an out, “I can make it stop,” and she was ready to take it. You guys were so on point with the discussion. This show is such a journey. We’ve been with Eren through so much, to the point where he is about to commit mass genocide and we get why.

Such a tragic story all around man, its just a cycle of badness that continues. I totally understand eren thinking he needs to do this in order for this cycle to finally come to an end, but obviously I of course can't condone genocide so its like, either way its effed. Sigh. Isayama such a boss for writing this story. Also Ymir is probs the most tragic character ever. That Stockholm syndrome was reeeal. Defs thankful for eren coming in to offer her that hug and those words she'd been waiting to hear.

This story has amazing writing. Back when Mr. Yeager was teaching Grisha the fake history of the titans, he mentioned that Ymir had made a contract with the Earth Devil. That was foreshadowing the meeting between Eren(the Devil) and Ymir in this episode.

This is just my opinion, but I always felt like Eren was having that breakdown because he KNEW Sasha was going to die. To me, it just seemed like he had already seen that happen, cause he wasn’t necessarily surprised. He was hysterical because he was so upset that it happened just the way he’d seen it happen. Like “oh wow, there’s really no changing this future”. It was a helpless cry, just like when Hannes died. He was sick of himself for not being able to prevent it.

Not really a psychopath. Psychopaths do everything for themselves and care about no one. Eren is doing everything for his people and would sacrifice anything for them. Yes he’s fucking crazy but I don’t think psychopath is the right word.

What's crazy is that in real time Eren got his head shot off and Zeke caught it, only for his "spine" to suddenly appear and attach to his head again 😭 To Gabi it must've looked like shooting Eren's head off was the biggest mistake of her life

I really like the parallels between our Ymir and the founder Ymir. A seemingly orphaned little girl who took the blame for something she may have not done just to protect other people. And then being made to suffer a long time in a seemingly never ending nightmare until being freed from said nightmare and saying "Fuck the world. Imma live for me from now on." Also Founder Ymir being stuck in that timeless desert being made to make titans every time a shifter transforms, healing shifters bodies or making pure titans every time someone is injected with nothing but a bucket and sand/clay is like some Dante's circles of hell stuff. Fucked up man.

About Ymir not healing up. Remember when Reiner initially wouldn't heal during the fight in Liberio and Falco said "The power of the titans will heal shifters as long as they got the will to live" Ymir probably lost her will to live when she heard Fritz still treat her as nothing more than a tool and slave after all that she has done. Just my personal theory. Also her not killing/rebelling against Fritz despite all the power she has reminds me of Bob Marley's song "Redemption song" where he says "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds." You can be freed from chains or have all the power in the world but you yourself got to make the choice to free yourself from mental bondage or risk remaining a slave all your life. It's unfortunate that she was taken as a slave so young to the point where she wouldn't have known much else but that life, on top of originally being kind girl who tries to please everyone and be loved by everyone according to Frieda. Which Frieda says it's a good thing but I think Isayama is trying to say the exact opposite, and that people should actively try to shape their own destiny independent of other people's will.

Little "fun" detail we actually see Fritz feed Ymir's body parts to his daughters in the S2 Ending song. My dumbass thought it was foreshadowing to what the fake King Fritz was gonna do with Eren back when they had captured him S3 but it was showing us this scene all along!!!
