This arc is the start of One Piece’s odd pacing. A lot of episodes this arc just adapt one chapter which is why you’re getting flashbacks to the last episode or two you just watched to pad time and such

Nah bro One Piece has been like this it just comes in and goes. Alabasta had fine pacing until you got the constant Vivi moments.

I agree, I'd say this arc has the 2nd worst story pacing. But when the big moments arrive and stuff woooooo it goes HARD. So the payoff def worth it to get through some of the crappy eps.

I don’t know if you meant to reply to me but actually no One Piece hasn’t always been like this. It wasn’t until towards the end of Enies’s Lobby that they started only adapting one chapter a episode. You can think Alabasta is slow but it isn’t because of chapters adapted. Just that even in the manga Alabsata took its time showing you the country and such. Most episodes of Alabasta range from 2-4 chapters a episode. Skypeia as well had about a 2-3 chapter a episode ratio. If Skypeia had the same pacing as Thriller Bark it’d be 33 or a few more episodes longer then it is. Alabasta is a 117 chapter saga put into 69 episodes. It would almost double the episode amount of that arc if it had one chapter a episode pacing. Thriller Bark with the old pacing should be around 25-26 episodes. Not a very long arc at all
