Vimeo just hit us up yesterday talking about their business model has changed and told us that we have overgrown our basic terms of service due to Bandwidth use.  They said we had to upgrade to their enterprise plan and said we had 10 days to come up with a solution or else they would terminate the account, meaning we'd lose every video that we uploaded on there (currently @ 495 videos) We asked for a quote, and this is what they sent based off our projected bandwidth use.  We've got 9 days to come up with a solution, and we don't know what to do.

Holy shit

Anonymous

Whoa wtf that’s crazy as fuck.

Anonymous

Okay so something similar to this happened to another reaction channel I watch on here. What you're most likely going to have to do is move all those videos one by one to another place like Mega. Try using Mega. Just my humble suggestion, if anyone has a better idea please help them.

Taylor Simon

Wait wtf bro... time to find a new streaming service or somwthin... they buggin

Anonymous

Sheesh, what was the business model before?

Big Daddy Dre

Try streamable...another you tuber was having the same problem and that’s what he started using instead

Anonymous

Wth... better to find a new streaming service.

Kyogln

Yeah I heard double dragon had the same problem and they just switched to streamable.

Anonymous

First things first, thats a lot of data. Save the most important ones to some type of external cloud/device Maybe transfer some of the videos to a private folder on youtube as well. and then you guys might have to make your own platform. Ik its a lot on yal heads rn, but we here for you. Focus on backing the vids up first.

Anonymous

Isn’t that what happened to double dragon ? Think they migrated all their videos to stream able

Anonymous

Another site I know channels use is streamable, and dailymotion with a password.

Razzledazzle314

Dannnngggg dawg 😱 try getting a quote from streamable

Anonymous

So they just gonna delete your account if you don’t pay for an upgrade? If they save the old accounts videos then you could just make a new one and post there and just repeat the process everytime you are about to hit the limit

Anonymous

Yes, saving away is essential. Also, other channels have private folders for diff series, so that’s also effective, if the uncut vids affects YT.

Anonymous

Just switch to a different one. Try to reupload the stuff if you can, but if you can’t your loyal followers will still be here for you!

joshnojoshua

gonna have to try another site, like streamable, or dailymotion with a password, or mega but i often have problems with mega about only being able to watch a certain amount before paying

Anonymous

Alright so first of all no way you're paying that. Second of all, you should start doing backups of those videos. Maybe prioritize some more popular shows. After that I would look for another hosting platforms. Dailymotion maybe? You could also just buy a website to host those reactions at fairly low price. An other reaction channel I watch does this. It's called the zen reactions and they have a site like this for their full length reactions : zenreaction.com

Taylor Simon

What does this mean for our new one piece reactions tho??? Ima be feinding if we have a hiatus lmao

Jack SV

I know it’s hard to save almost 500 videos. Hmm we need to think this one out. In any case this is some bs from Vimeo.

Jack SV

Nigga, can you read? They are about to lose all their reactions if they don’t solve this issue first. I swear One Piece fans are the worse.

Mario Oliver

Go to Streamable. If I remember correctly both Double Dragon and Supreme Past ended up making the move there cus of how expensive Vimeo gets.

Matthew B

I have a 2 terabyte dropbox account if you need to save your videos.

D4C

Those quote prices are insane. I know some other creators use streamable, dailymotion, google drive and mediafire. Whichever service y’all decide I’m still rocking with y’all

Anonymous

Damit💔

D4C

Yeah I know them and supreme past both switched to streamable and it’s been smooth sailing since. Only thing I don’t know is if the price quotes are similar.

John moore

They all ways say that to all the reactors but i dont think they ever delete it they just trying to get money out of you. Just make another account with them or switch to another site like streamable or dailymotion.

Anonymous

Anyone here rich and can donate 8 k that would be great

Big

Dayum that's tough. I agree with most the comments. Y'all gonna have to switch to something else like streamable, daily motion, or Mega. I know that daily motion can sometimes take down videos, so the other two might be better. Vimeo trash for just dropping this on y'all. Only 9 days as well smh.

Keondra McIntyre

Shit, I honestly don't have any ideas for helping!

Anonymous

Be warned streamable u can’t have hd videos on mobile though only on pc which sucks

Reeko

I would suggest you guys move to streamable, daily motion with a password, or mega. Also getting your own website/ domain would prob be really smart too. I built my own website for music with blue host.com and it was honestly really cheap compared to the quote they sent you guys.

Anonymous

I'd say for now focus on backing up all of your videos into your computer but don't worry about migrating everything as of now. Dunno which other platform is the best, so it's all up for you to decide. Once you've picked one, just upload current shows you react to there, those being SnK current season, JJK, Haikyu and maybe Skypiea arc of One Piece. And keep using it. As for the rest of the videos, just keep them stored in some extra drive, and upload them at whatever pace you feel comfortable with. You might even, at that point, find some other long term solution. Best of luck!

Anonymous

Oh man this sucks.. wathever happens, I ll support you guys, you are my favourites

Christopher Mayfield

Wow man is there a way for you guys to bacc up all on your hard rice

Anonymous

That sounds like some scam shit. Hard to believe vimeo which is hugeee would do this.

Anonymous

I think it s more affordable by using Mega I see it working well with other patreon accounts, but I'm not sure at all, look into it maybe ?

Preet

Yeah I would move the full length to youtube and maybe make them private. Or use streamable/mega or even google drive for some videos and password lock them.

Anonymous

Oh dam.....Mega and Dailymotion!

Anonymous

The situation isn't so dire, the same thing happened to Double Dragon Broz. If you don't have all your videos backed up and saved, do that now. Afterwards switch over to Streamable. Continue with new content while at your own pace re upload older videos.

Taylor Simon

Aye ur rich right bro? Dropping hundreds in the lives and shit🤣 between the money I get from chazz, and your deep pockets, we can save the day 💯😂

MarionThirteenmason Gr

why dont you try https://www.jwplayer.com/ a lot of websites use that to upload anime ant get 2 different free accounts and upload on both (or if you want i can download the vids i have my own server with 32Terabyte)

Ace Spiegel

whatever you guys end up deciding we'll be here for you

BERMY

1st you guys should probably backup most of all your videos asap then maybe switch to streamable... thats what a lot of people had to be doing cuz vimeo is wack when it comes to stuff like this

Heatah22reacts

Yo, preciate all the feedback and suggestions fam. I'm in the general discussion on discord if y'all tryna chat. Me and Hus are trying to download all the videos off of vimeo to our external hard drives. We're also tryin to decide what option to choose to upload the new reactions. I'm looking into streamable now. Worst case scenario, y'all might have to download reactions and delete them after you watch.

Anonymous

don't worry about making new vids till this is sorted out. the archive MUST be preserved.

Anonymous

No matter what happens, we'll be here. Someone said this above. but focus on the best series to start because you have a lot of data to move. I think I speak for all of us, but next Vimeo employee I see can catch these hands.

DANIEL PEEDAH

I’d contact my guys at double dragon, as they had similar experiences! If you go for the payment option let us know tho

Anonymous

You could push the videos to AWS S3 (I could help with this if you'd like): https://aws.amazon.com/s3/ Super cheap, and perfectly legal. The downside is that you couldn't really make it Members Only because whoever knows the video url can watch it (that would mean someone in here leaked the url; you could always change the url and re-upload it though). Dropbox or Box (a diff company) are other alternatives.. Lemme know.

Ruben Lopez

Damn sucks to hear that guys, I've tried Mega and it's not too bad. That would be my vote.

Anonamai

Not only Streamable as an option. YaboiRoshi is uploading straight to Patreon now. I’m not sure about costs though.

Av

As many people have been saying, lots of people use Streamable as alternative. There's also Mega and BreachTV that some people use. Really don't know about the videos already uploaded though....

Anonymous

Put the reactions on a hard drive to back em up. Then switch platforms and then continue to upload content while re uploading the content you backed up. Everybody saying go to streamable. Seems like a popular suggestion.

jin's scream in dionysus

They tryna rob u what the helllll idk have you looked at streamable? I've seen some youtube channels use that

Amazinshooter

Damn that’s insane man Vimeo is tripping. Do you have to delete every video? Or just a few to remain under their basic terms?

jin's scream in dionysus

I've even seen yaboyroshi upload straight to patreon if thats useful?

Anonymous

raise prices a tad for full access, and right that off as a business expense.

Kuro Shishio

Yo check out streamable

Anonymous

that sucks, i dont really have any advice to give (im not knowledgeable abt any of this stuff) but good luck, i hope things turn out okay!!

Grand-Daddy Longnuts

So sorry if this is obvious or anything but Patreon has a list of recommended sites for it's platform:https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046704651-Video-hosting-options So you've got some terms of service and bandwidth prices to review, but a lot of them look solid. As long as it's still being posted to Patreon I don't think anyone will mind the change 👌

Nate Deezy

rt tv uses a separate youtube account but has the videos privated so only those who are on parteon could see them. just an option

Prune Chips

yaboyroshi sometimes uses dropbox

terminator6969

pretty sure SOSbros do this too but they do it with a timer so not sure if it's ok to show the anime in there

Aceofspades928

Damn I'm sorry to hear that. Like most other comments In would focus on backing up most of your videos and switching to another platform.

DeGRA

Damn, that's crazy! Companies like that are just ripping off creators! Hopefully there's a better platform out there to switch to!

Avonti 2

This may be out of line but a similar thing happen to the YaBoyRoshi channel and they seemed to find another site or a work around. Idk if that will help but ill subscribe to anything yall are goats.

Avonti 2

EDIT: I think patreon can host its own videos you guys should be big enough that might work aswell.

Anonymous

Idk if this is the best option but download the backups and we might have to download them for a while but when u move on to the next streaming website get someone to upload the backups

Anonymous

Damn, I'm with everyone here -- I think focusing on moving your archive is best; put everything else on whole. That's your legacy they messing with right there. I don't know the sites being suggested first hand but take your time and figure out what works best for ya'll. I'm still rolling with you, regardless.

Anonymous

Yoooooo, have you guys check google drive! I remember other reaction channels are also using this. you gice give the subscribers access to it then we dont have to download👍 check it out and see if it works for you guys!

MojoJojoGojo

I don't get how any of this stuff works someone explain .-. why is that so much money for a year wth

Venom White

It's expensive but you all need to chill. Streaming servers are no joke. You need some serious hardware and bandwidth to handle all that traffic. You also need to rent space for the servers, cooling systems, electricity cost, maintenance and administration and a bunch of other things.

Isaac Noël

I guess for starters you should back up all your videos so you can upload them again elsewhere
