Tbh it isn't so bad that you are starting the new season so late, because season 2 is starting off kinda slow and episode 5 is where the season starts to become a rollercoaster of events i think

Do you guys plan on watching the Re:zero movie? That would be pretty dope to see. Can’t wait for season 2! Take your time though, no need to rush to catch up. Also even though it’s less important, a reaction to the ova, memory snow would be great.

Frozen Bonds gives some back story to Emilia and Puck's relationship so it would be very relevant to watch heading into season 2. Not too sure I've seen them do movie reactions though

Wouldn't really call season 2 slow considering...well *SPOILER WARNING STOP READING MY COMMENT HEATAH AND HUS* Episode 1 got rid of "best girl" of the series, ending of episode 2 introduced the Witch of Greed, and the ending of episode 3 introduced Subaru's father. These are some of the biggest events of the series (so far) so I'd say it's already started off with some fire to it

Quick recommendation, you guys should really just download episodes in advance on nyaa.si, get a torrent client lit qBittorent or uTorrent, and sort by highest seeder on nyaa.si. Just search re:zero on there, pick the right episode at 1080p and you're good to go. I know you're using a paid service rn etc but if the buffering is getting to be an issue for you guys I definitely recommend just downloading the episodes. Just my two cents

So should they react to the movie? I accidentally watched it thinking it was season 2. Idk if it’s relevant to the overall story or just backstory but it was still good and they would love that info. Does anyone know how important the movie is?

You guys should check "Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu: Hyouketsu No Kizuna" backstory of Emilia & Puck + check director's cut of episode 25 last 5 minutes as they changed stuff there so it fits better going ahead to season 2.

*SPOILER ALERT DONT READ THIS HUS/HEATAH* I mean, not really I guess? It's been a while since I've seen it but isn't the general takeaway from that movie "Emilia and Puck love each other very much"? It gives you a greater sense for how much they care for each other, therefore any events involving them in the series may have more emotional impact to you. Personally, I'd say it's not really necessary to watch for them to enjoy the events coming up in season 2, but if they have the time for it and they want to then why not.
