So funfact Spikes fighting style is Jeet Kune Do aka the hybrid style martial art Bruce Lee designed based on Wing Chun, Kickboxing, Escrima, Judo, and Fencing. And some say the character in this episode is directly based on Kareem Abdul Jabbar in appearence and stature as a homage (the name too). Kareem famously fighting bruce lee in The Game Of Death film that was never finished due to Lee's death. 100 minutes was filled and that fight being one of the shots filmed.

I believe the show was made in 98, you can tell this is a totally different vibe from today's anime. Different pace, Also the dialogue is everything in this show. It explains everything. Glad u got the subtitles on. Can't wait for next one.

It tells you in the intro when this was made: 1998 Also I recommend listening to the ending song at least once, it will have relevance later. Front to back, this is one of the best anime soundtracks of all time, and it's all original music.
