I love how much this catches you off guard. The whole time the show has been a goofy, comedic, action show that didn't seem to take itself TOO seriously. Then boom, they hit you with this, making you question what the hell is gonna happen next without Kamina's leadership

yeah...this one hurt. Also this show being painted as lighthearted and full of innocence was intentional and clever on the creators part (will talk about the theme more as the show progresses on)

RIP to the legend. When Kamina was getting up after he was ambushed, before he punched Simon, he says something like "I guess I can't even die in peace, huh?". The subs were a little off Edit: I remember how it feels when you see that for the first time. "What? No one can fill Kamina's shoes... Simon DEF can't..." You're in for some more amazing surprises 2nd Edit: If you pause at 19:45, you'll see a giant gash on Kamina's left side (it's not shading). Some people believe he was already dead at that point, but came back to life (somehow) for one last hurrah for his little bro.
