It took the God of War to take down Shinobu, that says a lot. He definitely would've killed Yusuke, again, demon buffs & all if it wasn't for Raizen

That line by Raizen is actually an anime addition (Sensui would have killed you). Wasn't in the manga. Also Raizen's possession didn't increase Yusuke's power. He's just a better fighter. Don't forget that Yusuke's first spirit gun was ripping apart Sensui's defensive armor. Any direct hit on offensive armor or no armor Sensui would have murdered him.

Even if that line was added, Raizen still took over for that reason. Whether Studio Pierrot thought it'd be nice to remind the audience is neither here nor there, he still felt Yusuke couldn't handle him. Now could Yusuke defeat him(Sensui)? It's still up in the air, which is the whole point and why it serves as the motivation propelling Yusuke up to this episode.

It would've been nice to see what would've happened if Raizen didn't interfere. We're ready to see what happens next tho for sure
