One of the beauty of jojos is the author doesn't really like to have a long term plan he just goes by the flow. So a lot of things are forgotten about or abilities are changed because he realized they where overpowered.

My understanding is that Araki gives David Production a list of songs he was listening to during that time and they pick the one they like the most. But I think I probably just heard that from some random person on Youtube LOL.

With Giorno's back story, the crazy part is Araki said that if Dio knew about Giorno's existence, he would’ve gone to get him. A lot of people forget he had an abusive dad, too.
