I don't know if the contest is actually over, it seemed more like, "oh so you gonna just end the game like that? So you lose then right? Because I'm not done..." Then he's like "shit" and now the game continues and he's praying Pitou shows up so he wins and keeps the secret. Also I think there might be confusion of palms ability, she doesn't see the past, she sees things currently happening like APR Sticking to someone like a tracker but only too see through. Her ability changed a bit I guess where she use to feed that crystal ball her blood and could see who she wanted to like Killua at the hotel or later Bisky.
