Yaaaay, it's time for the first proper MarchNeedsMoms Poll!

Super hyped for this one <3

As usual, this poll will be open from February 19th 10am CET to February 22nd 10pm CET.

And this poll features the following suggestions:

1. A Found Family - Hundreds of years ago, before the Queensdom of Turia was a Queensdom, it was once a kingdom, ruled by a male monarch. Though the last King of Turia would end his reign in infamy after rallying every man of the kingdom to serve him in the Galrian Civil War.

At the end of this war, when the surviving men returned to their homeland, they were met by women who in the absence of their husbands and fathers had to adapt in order to defend their homeland. These adaptations, fueled by magic and alchemy, had made the women of Turia grow far taller and stronger than their men.

In the dawn of this new way of living in Turia, a former soldier laments that he'll never be able to raise the family he really wanted. His once-dainty fiance becomes a buff swordswoman in his absence and cancels the wedding, seeing him as an insecure and selfish fool for abandoning her to fight a pointless war alongside his idiot king.

Still enjoying the rush of battle and ignoring the real reason why he was rejected, the young man convinces himself that perhaps staying in the rough and dangerous Wildlands to train against its monsters for a few months will make him a better, more masculine suitor in a society full of musclebound amazons. So he packs up and leaves for the wilderness.  Months do, indeed, pass... then years. It is widely assumed back at home that the lost fool was just another victim of the ferocious tribes native to the Wildlands, but that could not be further from the truth. Changed in mysterious ways by the lands into a Naga Broodmother, perhaps she finally found the family she was seeking all along.

(Seventh Realm, Human male-to-female Naga post-TF)

2. Parenting is "Hell" - During a team exploration to the Lower Planes, an idealistic egg (as in being trans), finds and shows concern for some abandoned eggs (as in demon eggs). After an unrelated argument with their team, their teammates decide to slip off in the night, and leave her stranded at the way station until the next mission (which is not for a month at least).

A few weeks later, the abandoned member appears in the research centre using a portal of her own creation, having adopted the younglings she'd found and managing to adapt. And now she wants a word with HR about her colleagues actions (as well as the childcare program).

(Human egg ("male") to devilkin single mother)

3. The Serendipitous Stepdragon - In the Seventh realm, a human warrior from the Frostlands, on the hunt for powerful monsters to slay to prove his mettle (perhaps even a legendary dragon!), instead stumbles upon a nest of Kobolds - small and foolish creatures with draconic features and a penchant for getting themselves into trouble. Not only were these creatures far too weak to be worthy foes for our warrior, but they are so obviously defenseless and certain to get themselves killed that they spark a protective instinct in the warrior, and against his better judgement he stays to ensure the kobolds are not eaten by predators or go diving into a volcano.

A great while later (and at the time of our pinup), and someone new runs into the kobold clutch, though this new traveler does not find them unprotected. Instead they are watched over by a powerful dragon matriarch, who tends and protects her children both from the harsh world and their own foolishness. While commonly misunderstood, the seemingly weak and disposable kobolds are in reality the first life stage in the eons long life cycle of the great and majestic dragons many Seventh Realm cultures revere. Kobolds that survive to maturity eventually molt into larger, more powerful forms, the wisdom of long years tempering their foolishness into the wisdom dragons are known for. (The rarity of dragons speaks to just how long this maturation process takes - several mortal lifetimes - and just how good kobolds are are stumbling into untimely ends before this point).

Whatever became of this clutch's original mother - whether she was slain, or ascended to some higher plane, or simply grew sick of her hatchling's antics and left - the kobolds were fortunate to find another who was able to rather become someone that could fill considerable place.

4. A Trollish Return - Ages ago, the Trolls ruled a vast kingdom across the Seventh Realm. But one day, they simply disappeared from the Realm with no one quite sure what had happened to them. Crumbling ruins of their cities remain as the only evidence of their existence with many people not even knowing what they look like. One fanatical human researcher from the city of Vigil in West Galria intends to find that out by venturing into the catacombs of a ruined city.

In the catacombs he discovers a curious network of ancient circuitry, some that still spark with magical energy. And despite knowing better, he touches part of the mechanisms, completing the circuit and becomes infused with the ancient energies. The pressure builds and warps him into a Troll matron, losing half of his height and his male sex.

With vibrantly colored skin and hair, she looks over her shrunken self, rubs her pointed ears, feels her long, prehensile tail and the bat-like wings that have grown from her back. Frantically she looks for a shiny surface to get a better look of herself and when she does, a fantastical thing reveals itself to her. "Troll" is actually a mistranslation of "Fae," a once-thought to be purely mythical race!

This discovery is sure to rock the Seventh Realm to its core, but before she can focus on the science, there's a growing instinct in her telling her to repopulate the Realm with her kind.

(Seventh Realm, Human male-to-female "Troll," or "Fae" as they were once known)
