Among our community here are a lot of talented people doing interesting things related to the field of psychedelics. As I learn about various projects from patrons I'd like to start sharing things to the rest of our community and if you'd like me to highlight something relevant that you are working on, please let me know about it. Along these lines, I'd also like to point out that the latest patreon APP (for Android or Apple) has a cool new feature for "Community Chat" so all GordoTEK members can share whatever they want with this community, ask questions, post pictures, and help one another out. So far this feature has been very well received and quite active, so I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this - it also helps ME out when people can quickly get answers to questions directly from our community instead of through private messages directly to me.

Stealthy Spores

"Stealthy Spores" has created a mycology related collectible card game, check out the trailer its great! 😎 he even created a coupon code "Gordo" that gets you 10% off any order:

I was honored to be included in the game and relieved that I wasn't a villain 😂  Speaking of villains, my favorite is:

😂💪🏼 that's GOLD.  There are also cards describing mushroom species and cultivars so you can actually learn a thing or two from the game.

SAM GANDY

Sam is a PhD ecologist & researcher in England.  He has published several papers and articles related to the field including

The potential synergistic effects between psychedelic administration and nature contact for the improvement of mental health
and  Participation in an indigenous Amazonian-led ayahuasca retreat associated with increases in nature relatedness – a pilot study

Now Sam is working on a new project that I'm hoping our community will participate in (its free and anonymous and may help us better understand the differences between mushroom species)

Please take some time to fill out the anonymous survey ESPECIALLY if you've experienced any non-cubensis psychedelic mushroom (like pan cyans, natalensis, subtropicalis, zapotecorum, liberty caps, etc) :
https://ipz.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_a5W81vgOy9VEPMW
This is a first step to see if further research is justified. I hope that eventually carefully controlled double blind comparison studies will be done to see if the reported differences between species are statistically significant or merely unreliable anecdotes shaped perhaps by shared expectations.

"Our goal is to enhance the scientific understanding of these experiences and their potential variations across species"

"Research Objectives: This study seeks to identify patterns and distinctions in the subjective experiences elicited by various psilocybin mushroom species, addressing questions such as: Do different species cause different subjective effects? Do certain effects always co-occur? Are there a set of clusters into which we can group species depending on their effects? And many more! Your input as an experienced user is critical in enabling us to discern these patterns, contributing to a more nuanced understanding in the field of fungal psychopharmacology. This is especially the case for those of you experienced with species that are less frequently used."

"Your Participation: In the following, we will present you with a list of psychoactive mushroom species/varieties and ask you to select those species that you have used at least once in the past 12 months. For each of those species, we will then ask specific questions to capture the qualitative aspects of your typical experience with this species. This includes sensory perceptions, cognitive changes, and emotional responses you associate with each species."

JAMES W JESSO

James is an author, podcaster and YouTuber who has been doing interviews under "Adventures Through the Mind" for many years with various experts, authors, and thinkers in the field of psychedelics and related matters. I often find myself listening to his interviews while I am driving on long road trips. He has an eclectic mix of guests, sometimes serious scientists and authors, other times not so much, but its always fun to listen to different perspectives and ideas. Sometimes he even has guests with opposing views on at the same time as in The Great Shamanic Debate | James Kent vs. Julian Palmer  Check out his content.

I'm not an affiliate or anything like that, but a patron here runs ShroomShroom, they sell fresh mushrooms, dried mushrooms, powders and tinctures of the (legal) gormet, medicinal variety.  They generously sent me a sampling of their tinctures which come in glass dropper bottles:

These cards are great! I can't believe I made it in there with the likes of GordoTEK, PGT, etc! Feels like I sneaked into the backstage party somehow! 🍄♥
