Hey everyone, an update for Celestia and Luna.
Since my last post I have been working on the alicorns with the aim of making an image set(s) with them once they are done. I started off with Celestia who is now mostly done outside of correct hair coloration and some more hair physics testing. Luna is closely behind Celestia once those hair physics are nailed down, since they share a lot features between their hairs. (Such as wavyness settings, overall hair shape, etc).
Especially tricky challenges I have had to solve have been the uniquely long hair both Celestia and Luna have, that merge from the top and back of the hair into one big hair piece (rather than being two separate hair groups).
And then the challenge of trying to implement the wavyness and floatyness of the hair, which the physics were not very happy about. Celestia's hair requirements easily broke the physics simulations, so I had to simply do a lot of trial and error until it worked. And not give up, even if it's tedious and very time consuming. I'm attaching some examples in the files.

Things I got done for Celestia was to make an alicorn horn model, her fur and wing textures, her gold regalia (tiara, necklace and shoes) and height changes (she is the first time I have made a pony taller). Most of her hair, the horn model and shoes are reusable for Luna so that's a good thing too.
Things missing was the finalized wavyness physics and correct colors. I do hair strand colors last when everything else is done, so it is pink for now until I nail down the wavyness.
I might also add some more muscle/leg definitions to her and make the fur texture a bit more visible if it looks nice. (I will ask about it in the WIP discord channel later and let people decide based on what they think looks good).
Height difference between Twilight and Celestia, I based it on the height difference you see in the show. Changing height works great, so I will be using it for all the characters to make them all a bit unique. Luna will be shorter than Celestia but taller than Twilight for example.

I have attached a wavyness test in the files, and a video of the physics going wild. Which are a couple of problems I have had to spend many hours to solve (sometimes there's nothing obvious as to why it would break until I try everything possible... but eventually with dedication any problem can be solved!)
(Example of one of the issues I had. Celestia's hair was so long that it easily broke apart at the tip of the hair, it couldn't retain its shape well at all when movement happens. But I eventually figured out how to fix that problem).
