As a person who's mental stability was stabilize by this series, but primarily by Digimon, as a child I have no problem saying that Duel Monsters is still pretty solid. 5Ds is still #2 but DM just feels like Mom's milk ya know? And I'm not going to explain how the card game works because in season 1 it's all bull$hit and dick measuring. The simplest way to understand the rules right now is: higher the attack points and/or plz nerf ass ability or trap card usually wins I'm not shocked they didn't start with Season 0. The cards were always metaphors for essentially weapons but in that Season they are used as literal weapons and Lovecraftian horrors.

And this is somehow not as crazy as the original manga, where Kaiba built a ten million dollar theme park of death because he got SUPER MAD that Yugi beat him at a card game one time. Said theme park includes a lazer tag duel with a US Marine sniper and a haunted house occupied by an actively at large serial killer. Shit is NUTS.
