what are the red, green, and blue lines in these sketches? shadows, highlights, midtones?

The colored lines are the color borders of the area. I usually draw red lines, but if there are multiple color borders, such as eyes, I use blue or green lines so that they do not mix. This is an efficient way to color an animated drawing.
