Eeyok's route is under way!

However, whilst working on Eeyok's route, I realize how much work a route actually entails. I mean, I've been doing this for a few years now, I know how much work a route is... but what I meant is; it takes up all my time. Writing 130k words, drawing 10CGs, new backgrounds, coding the actual chapters each month, and various character sprites is a lot!

Future title (no name yet)

That is why I'm considering cutting down the releases to one chapter a month. Because... I want to work on my future game! If I continue to work on Tailor Tales as I am now, I won't be able to have time to work on my other game. After all, Tailor Tales will come to an end at some point, and I need to be able to have other content I'm working on.

What's this next game?
Most of you already know, but for those that are new to the Patreon, my next game is about playing a (fake) MMORPG, finding party members to team up and fight with, and be able to chat with them through a chat simulation, including romancing them. You are able to customize your main character as much as you want - including gender, and female LIs will also be present (or you can just be their friend!). The MMORPG part of the game will hopefully be in 3D and it plays like a simple dungeon crawler. You'll be able to meet players in the game which you can eventually befriend, talk to, and meet up with offline.

Of course, this is all concept talk at this point, because I'm working on Tailor Tales.

So I took the time these last few weeks (sorry Eeyok) to work on some character art for this game. Character art is usually how I'm able to create mock-ups of the game, and start coding from there. Because of the comments I've gotten on Tailor Tales' art (to this day, still!), such as being bad, too western, and all around it turns people off - I tried to make my art more anime-like that appeals to otome players. Whether I succeeded, I'm unsure, I just don't want people to dismiss the game because the art didn't appeal to them.

So here's some character designs (intended to be romancable) I've finished so far!

This was quite a lot of work! And there's more characters I'm working on as well. Basically I want a large cast of characters you can befriend or romance, simulating a  group of gaming friends. Feedback I had gotten from Aiden's route shows people really enjoyed the fake chatting (albeit it could go a little faster), and they liked having a friend group. The new game would expand upon that, and organically let you meet them in-game and eventually get their username to be able to chat with outside of the game, and meet up in person.

But again - I can't work on this unless I reduce my workload on Tailor Tales. So I ask of you; would you be okay with getting 1 chapter a month for Tailor Tales' next character routes whilst I work on a future title (that you'll get to play, too, once I have a workable demo), or would you want me to remain with 2 chapters a month?

First of all, I just want to say that I absolutely LOVE your art work and don't see a reason you should change it. It's YOUR game--if people want more anime like art, there are plenty of commercial otome games that can be played. There is no reason people should be complaining to you about how YOU draw in an attempt to get you to assimilate into how other otome games look. Your art honestly stands out--I would be able to identify exactly who drew it if I saw it posted. Please DO YOU!!! I would absolutely love this in your original style. Your characters all look so organic--I wish reality was drawn that way lol. Nonetheless, this looks great and I am fine with one chapter a month. Just know you will still have supporters regardless if the art changes or not.

One chapter a month is fine and the new game seems great! Whatever you need to do to pace yourself. These more fantasy routes look to be so much more work. Apologies if you know this already (I'm never sure how far American culture goes abroad), but Jesse James was a somewhat famous outlaw in the US. Sounds like your guy is pretty much the opposite of him haha I can't wait to play what you create in the future!

Eh, considering how long the game has been in constant development I don't know that I'd appreciate it being delayed further by reduction in chapters so a second game can be focused on. Neither am I very enthused with the idea of a dungeon crawler. Came for an otome style visual novel. The art however, I am just fine with, I've enjoyed watching the evolution of your art from the very early days (I still have the very first Tailor Tales demo ever released on a disc somewhere) to now. It has been very satisfying, I see no reason to change it--"don't fix it if it ain't broke", as they say. I'll also second the poster before me who mentioned that Jesse James (and his brother) are very infamous bank robber outlaws in the USA. There's also a fairly famous motorcycle customizer who sports the same name in said outlaws honor as a result in the US.

well I think the art is really good for your new game, I've had no issues with your art style in tailor tales, its unique and impressive that you've done it all on your own.

I’m mew but would definitely not mind at all if it means another awesome game is coming! 🥰
