Due to many people being stuck at home, I figured I may as well entertain you now. So here's the first ever mid-way monthly update of Tailor Tales: you can now go out on dates with Neil. Please update your game on Itch! Only Plus users can date.

I would have liked to waited a little bit longer due to not having fully tested everything, but to my knowledge, it should work without many hiccups. Please check out Neil's profile and click on 'date'. You can select to go out on a date at the beach, or at your own home for now.

There's 3 date scenarios for each location, so you can go out multiple times! You'll get a random scenario each time, but you won't get the same one in a row (provided you're dating in the same location).

Only Neil is available to date so far.

Please let me know of any bugs that happened (curtains staying closed, Neil appearing off screen etc.) and write down detailed steps what you did before the bug happened. This would help tremendously.

We worked hard on getting this system ready to play, and would love to hear your feedback on the different elements. Whether you enjoyed the dates, whether the minigame was too hard or boring, if you liked selecting locations to touch Neil etc. We also spent 3 days getting those sparkles to work, so enjoy lol.

Enjoy dating Neil, and stay strong everyone!

i forgot to mention that i didn't see 3 areas highlighted for dates, only two. the mc's house and the beach.

YAY! Something to look forward to after being stuck at work updating public computers all day.

There's only two locations you can go to (the beach and the MC's house), but each location has 3 date scenarios.

I had an issue! I tried to go to the beach and was told I didn't have enough coins (I didn't so that's fine). So then I chose to do the at home date. It confirmed and then the curtains closed and stayed closed.

I just tried it again after closing the game. I went directly to the home date and it's still stuck on the closed curtains. I got enough coins for the beach date and it worked fine.

Important to know: did you already date Neil at the beach (or at home) before you tried again (and was denied)?

I hadn't dated him at all. I did the beach date after closing the game the 2nd time it didn't let me date him. Then, I tried to date him at home after 2 beach dates and it got stuck on the curtains again.

Hehe, dating is nice ^^. About the things I encountered: First time I went to the beach, the curtain stayed close and I had to close the game and start anew, which worked, but the money spent was gone. Sometimes lines are repeated (Neil doing the same thing he did before). The teasing game isn't my cup of tea, the hearts are driving me crazy because my rhythm is off and I end off clicking blue hearts in a row. It is easier in windowed mode, though.

Katharina Rambeaud

Ah, and something else. The "end the date" option feels a bit abrupt, it would be kind of nice to have a few sentences covering Neil and the MC ending the date and maybe looking forward to a new one. Overall the dating system is fun.

This sounds like an issue with Itch not updating the files correctly (the person below you having the same issue). Itch is getting pretty unreliable with updates... And you can't force a validation check either, so your best bet is to go to the Discord and ask me for help, there, so I can give you the files personally. Thank you for your feedback! I've updated the game again, so hopefully that fixes any curtains getting stuck. I also added a line after you end the date. There was indeed a small error that didn't check whether or not Neil did the previous action before, so I fixed that, too! As for the hearts itself, well that's just a matter of getting used to the rhythm haha. There's always the option to skip it after all :)

Katharina Rambeaud

Ignoring the hearts and opt out having the MC being called gorgeous? Nah, won't do. I'll stick to the hearts and get the rhythm right.
