3.0.3 Password Plus (Patreon)

This month the Tailor Tales Plus Early Access will be renamed to "Tailor Tales Patreon" due to the merger with the normal game (now there's only one game for two tiers!)

 Tailor Tales content this month:
James' chapters 6 & 7

ITCH HAS BEEN A BIT GLITCHY AND MIGHT PATCH YOU WITH A CORRUPTED FILE. If you can't boot up the game anymore and you're stuck on a black screen, make Itch reinstall the game so that it's forced to redownload the files and fix the corruption. Your save file should still be there.

It says the same for me on the same scene and when trying to load a quick save in the beginning.

Mine won't even take the password. I enter it and get no message about new content. Gonna try reinstalling and see if that works.

Hey there! I uploaded the game with a few debugging code left in that were active, hence the errors. Please update your game and it should work again! :)

Since Itch is being a pain, if anyone has updated the game but is still stuck on a black screen - please make Itch reinstall the game. A file got corrupt and Itch isn't updating it, so a forced reinstall is the way to go. If you did it correctly through Itch, your save file should still be in tact and you can play as normal.

I´m a new Patreon but I have to say I really love this story. I really love all charakters and your storytelling is amazing. I´m happy that I can support you. Right now my favorite Route is James. Thank you.

Hey. :) Thanks for the update. I'm always looking forward to it. Well, reinstalling did not work for me. Every time I try to load a manual save I get an error: "Failed to load: img/pictures/Fashion/Completed/CLTH_00001.png, /CLTH_00001_front.png and /CLTH_00001_behind.png" and stay stuck on the Error-Screen. Loading a quick save results in the same problem. So right now I can't play with my latest save, just with creating a new game. It would be great, to not lose everything. Can you help?

You got the black screen, right? Itch's update corrupted a file and it's not fixing it. If you let Itch do a re-install then you should be able to play again! Let me know if it worked.

Hmm it seems your clothing files got deleted for some reason during the update. i apologize, itch has been... glitchy to say the least. You can still play though. A way around this error is by opening your local files (Itch settings > manage > open local files in browser). Then browse to the location of the error (www > img > pictures > Fashion > Completed). You should see a file in there, an image of a shirt, named Starter1. Copy this file and paste it in the same folder, but rename it to the missing file name (in your case, you should rename it to CLTH_00001). Keep pasting the same file and changing the name to reflect the missing files (CLTH_00001_behind and CLTH_00001_front are important to not forget!). If you had a lot of clothes, you're going to have to do this a bunch. Eventually you can open your game and play without the error showing up. Then I would recommend going into your Outfits and deleting all of the affected/missing clothes (you're going to see a shirt for them all). This will clean out any remaining errors. Let me know if it worked!

Thanks that worked perfectly! ;) Well, it took me a while (file names to 00031), but after deleting the "Shirt"-Outfits, everything was fine again. It seems so, that the Reinstalling deleted every outfit ever created, but that’s OK! And now I will read the new Chapters. :)

James is not available to be selected when you start the game (this is not coded in yet), but you can still select him once you're in the main menu! Just click the Settings > Character > James > Start New Route. Same goes for Caine. These characters are simply not available yet: Aiden & Gray.

Hi. So when I first tried playing for some reason the game had me start a new game. I then tried loading a save from there but for some reason the new game overwrote my old save. I did have a quick save mid story which worked but for some reason it won't advance to the next line. The text box is blank. All the buttons still work though. This error doesn't occur with a new game. I have tried reinstalling but all that fixed was the loading a save problem when starting up. Since no error messages have popped up I'm not sure what the fix is. If you can help so I don't have to start a new game that'd be great.

Hey there! Starting a new game meant it overwrote your save file. Quick saves will always be corrupted with each update, so you can't use those to load your game. There should however, be a back-up file. However, this back-up file could have easily been overwritten as well when you started a new game. If you open your local files on Itch (settings > Mana > open local files in browser), and browse to: Tailor Tales > www > save. There should be a file in there called file3.rpgsave. If you rename this file to "file3.rpgsave" (overwrite the current file1) and try loading your manual save again, this should hopefully put back your old save file. However, like I said, starting a new game could have easily meant you overwrote your back-up. In which case you really do need to start a new game, I'm sorry :( Make sure you force an update on the game! Starting a new game was a glitch that was patched right afterwards.

I tried and it didn't change anything. Oh well, thanks for trying to help. At least now I know. I'm just glad I didn't have a lot of custom clothes. I'll just need to fast forward through James' first 5 chapters. It's the one time i don't like long chapters :)

I'm sorry to hear your back-up file was overwritten anyway :( Itch has been a mess with the last update and people are getting corrupt files or even missing files. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. To speed up chapter however, just press and hold down the W on your keyboard for a fast forward.

Hi here, thank you very much for your amazing job. :) I'm just having a minor problem with the password, I can't obtain the lastest james' chapter. Don't know why. I tested a few times but it won't work for me.

Please check out the trouble shooting page, though the most likely answer is that you didn't install the game through the Itch app if this is your 2nd month and the password isn't giving you any content (which means the game hasn't updated). I started playing this game yesterday cause it was recommended to me on steam and I played it for 9 straight hours and I can't stop and when it said there was nsfw content I was 25 chapters in I immediately joined the patreon so idk what's supposed to happen when a password is added but so far it hasn't work (I've tried it on steam, download through itch page and now I'm playing it through the app :S)
