The dub is the problem have yall not seen the localized controversy? Dub voice actors just change lines as they see fit the reason we want sub is cause this is one of those cases the dub actors for this show just throw in trash dated last decade jokes and comedy think of rimurus lines... the sub isn't like that

Yeah they have to match mouth movements but don't subvert from the main point of the dialouge being different in that the trash dated comedy in the dub is the wrong way to go its not that bad for regular conversation dialouge but the way they do the comedy specifically is all dated or corny ish I hate the shit they make rimuru say

Wellz: How does Rimuru lose? He doesn't. Aside from that one fight with the church lady, you're never gonna see Rimuru struggle in a fight again. People will say Rimuru isn't the strongest in the anime but none of that matters since Rimuru is never going to be a situation where he seriously fights someone stronger than him. Slime is just another over hyped brain rotting power fantasy anime.

Judging on how these guys are reacting to the conversations, they have no idea how long the show is going to be. This is all lore from light novel and not even ½ of it was adapted. I'm not sure if you're referencing the OVAs or the movie but the story doesn't really feel stretched out in the light novel. The web novel was nice and condescended but the point of the light novel is to expand on the ideas.
