2024-02-05 03:55:28 Hiccup was hiding how he was defeating the dragons during dragon training. He hid the eel in his jacket, he pulled the grass out at the last second when nobody was looking, he scratched the dragon under the chin while blocking Astrid’s view, etc. Notice that nobody ever remarks on these methods or asks how he learned them. The entire village is under the impression that Hiccup is driving the dragons back through intimidation as a warrior. They all believe he WANTS to kill dragons. So, from their perspective, Hiccup throws down this shield and declares out of nowhere that he’s siding with the dragons. I usually don’t mind when people miss a plot element like this, but y’all argued about something that wasn’t even happening right through the biggest character development moment of the whole movie. Lol
