I think one of the cool things about JJK especially as the manga/story progresses past this season is that unlike in shows like Naruto where some side characters kinda get pushed to the side and forgotten, everyone gets their moments to shine and attention. But yea GoJo does steal a lot of attention from Yuji.

I feel like gojo is just Levi’s character with more screentime due to years of feedback from these type of characters. Mangakas know that the people enjoy these chatacters, possibly setting them up for a spinoff (like Minato). Btw, not overhyped, just too much screentime for a character as cool as he is.

Cause they SIDE characters it’s in the name. And that’s not always a cool thing cause we should want more of our mc but we don’t want more Yuji we want more Gojo and that’s bad writing. Shoulda just made him the mc if yuji only shines in the beginning, kinda middle, and towards the end like a side character. Should be all the way through wit side characters taking shine here nd there like shikashippuden and sasushippuden

Definitely not overhyped when the writer gives him just as much focus, if not more than the MC and makes him way stronger than any other character. I'd argue JJK as a series is overhyped and Gojo is one of the main reasons JJK became this popular in the first place.

yes, gojo is overhyped imo. that being said, he certainly leaves the biggest impression of all the cast. i don’t think it’s inherently a bad thing for the mc of a series to take the backseat sometimes when it comes to other prominent characters. as long as there’s some sort of pay off or fulfillment that we as the audience feel when itadori’s plot is concluded then i would think it’s totally fine how gege has handled him.

Wellz what do you mean the fight was to show how they've improved since season 1? In season 1 Megumi was using domain expansion and Yuji was using black flashes. They looked nerfed in this fight and this fight was a waste of time

yeah. gege is definitely going for a series that puts a strong emphasis on other members of the cast outside of the mc. whether or not they’re executing it well could be debated. i think it’s too soon to say forsure, yet. especially within the context of where the anime is currently at in the story rn.

I think it's kinda weird to expect every show to have to follow the MC the entire time, shows like game of thrones would never work in that case. JJK isn't a coming of age story its about coming to terms with death, like yuji's personal growth is important but that isn't the main focus(i mean we go into the show with the expectation yuji is going to die to end sakuna as his vessel). Which is why when you compare it to bleach or other shonen that are(same with naruto and OP) it's gonna feel weird because the MC's journey in thoughts and actions HAVE to be more focus'd on, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see them develop into adults. Where as with yuji that was never the main focus, it was more about dealing with his situation w/ sakuna.

Sasuke is a main. He’s literally the deuteragonist. Also, that is not at all what bad writing entails. Your personal opinion doesn’t speak for everybody. I see plenty of people who want more Yuji, so no idea what you’re talking about there. And yes, side characters should get focused on and not ignored. Shikamaru was done well. Others like Neji, Rock Lee, and Choji were not. All of the focus shouldn’t be on the MC when you have such a huge cast of characters. You have to actually you know...use all of these characters.

I don’t see how Gojo is overhyped tbh. He’s the strongest in his verse, his whole character is about him being op and hyped. All the other sorcerers in the verse hype him up and curses try to avoid him for the most part. Besides his cool powers and how his technique works Gojo also has a pretty funny comedic tone to him when he’s not going coo. He’s one of the coolest characters to come out in the past few years for sure but of course you’re going to have ppl who don’t love JJK as much as their favorite series or love gojo as much as their fav character and is going to say he’s overhyped. If you look at the JJK character polls Gojo not even #1

I don't think Gojo is overrated. I personally find him to be refreshing, for a battle shonen. Maybe overhyped by casuals who only care about power? But it's usually some old dude running shit, but here it's a young guy that can relate to and cares for the new generation coming up. He's a thorn in the side of the old heads and I love that, because he wont let them do their dumb old and abusive shit. I really fuck with Gojo, he's more than just OP as fuck to me. His persona, motivations, and actions are greater to me than his powers. He has real gravitas and not just someone we're told about. We get to see it for ourselves. He's extremely compelling and well written. I don't think it's taking away from Yuji that much. All Gojo shit is going to end up being character development for Yuji eventually, it's all a build up. It's way too early to be even making claims about certain things, imo. People just go crazy and have no patience because of all the hype other people put on shit. I'm enjoying the ride and waiting till we get deeper into the story. So far it's all been enjoyable and fun, and that's what I care about.

I hate to be the one complaining about the animation. But I feel like we are lacking impact and choreo for the fights. It is possible they can be saving budget for bigger fights though so ima just let them cook. If you want a example of what I’m talking about S1 Ep 19 from last season.

There’s either zero delay after an attack or some of the process of the attack is missing 3.
