Basically Hibiki has Archive Magic, so he can access mass amounts of magical information such as spells, forbidden magic and etc. so he found a powerful Celestial spell and force implanted it into Lucy for a one time use with his magic.

Lucy's kinda trash but she has main character plot armor so the anime tries its best to with what they gave her. Her redeeming quality is that she has a shit ton of magic power. Thats her major asspull. But in reality shes kind of useless and a damsel in distress. Her celestial spirits are far stronger than she is..but its with her magic power that they can appear. SO when they beat an opponent you kind of have to give Lucy the credit because it was only possible with her. Plus she's hot. Wellz knows Lucy is garbage...but why admit that when its so much more fun to just fuck with Jerry

I mean Celestial wizards are basically just Pokémon trainers. All of them don’t really do much besides use their magic to summon beings to fight for them. The other girl was the same way and every other one we have seen up to this point.

@ItsLargeDad at least with pokemon trainers they come up with strategies and give orders to help their pokemon battle better, Lucy just summons them and leaves them to their own devices most of the time.

@Justus A in Digimon they have to use the digivice to evolve their Digimons to a higher level to fight. Even though the tamers aren't the ones fighting they contribute to their Digimon being strong enough to fight. Same thing with Lucy and her spirits, she provides them with magic power and they fight on her behalf. I personally wouldn't give Lucy full credit for a fight she wins with her spirits.

Ok I agree with that. I asked because I felt that all her dubs shouldn't be taken away from her just because she uses her spirits to fight. Since she supplies magic power she should get some credit but not all. Some fans talk about her like she's useless and does nothing

Jerry, don't be afraid to correct the others about already known information. They tend to forget small details from past arcs that are referenced in current arcs and it gets them all confused lmao. Like they are still theorizing about Seigren (or however tf you spell it) when its already confirmed that Seigren never really existed and was just a projection Jellal used to further his agenda.

I definitely don’t discredit her in general. I’ve always defended her magic and saying that her “Spirits do all the work” would be no different than saying “Natsu’s fire does all the work”. Especially with the theme of magic being alive. However, Wellz was definitely capping hard here. Lucy straight up had outside assistance from another wizard in this case. And I also say the same thing for Natsu whenever he also gets that. I legit don’t count a lot of his power ups. And he’s my second favorite character.

The author himself said that omake that half of episode 50 was based off of was never supposed to even reference that. He said and I quote “I had absolutely no intention of putting Natsu and Lucy in any kind of romantic relationship. But people took it in completely the opposite way.” It was literally just a gag. She also wasn’t blushing at all in the manga. It literally does come out of nowhere.

Some people in the comments forget that Hibiki gave Lucy the knowledge and not the magic. She used was she had left of magic to cast Uranometria. And for the summoning of spirits SHE is the summoner so the strength of the summoned spirits depends on HER magic. She not only summons the spirits (that already consumes magic) and she supplies the power to them during the fight. Summoning one spirit after the other in a long fight is already a strong feat for a mage in the world of Fairy Tail

Pat there aren't three Jellals. There's only Jellal and Mystogan. Siegrain was just the false name Jellal was using to infiltrate the magic council. He simply created a projection of himself and had it infiltrate the council, that's all. The goal of the infiltration was to convince the council members to fire the Etherion. Siegrain (his projection) also created this story that he was Jellal's twin brother and not Jellal himself to avoid suspicion.

Lucy only uses holder type Celestial Spirit magic, Hibiki taught her a high level caster type Celestial Spirit magic spell. However because he used archive to teach it to her she could only cast the spell once before forgetting how to cast it

I fuck with Lucy’s personality I think she’s funny and provides a good dynamic within “ fairy tail’s strongest team”. But when it comes to fights, her fights aren’t as entertaining as natsu, gray, or erza’s fights. So wellz choosing her over natsu is funny asf no 🧢 😂

@Devin B She doesnt supply them with magic power. Her power is just used to open the gate. The only thing special about her is that she's blessed with a considerable amount of magic power so that two spirits can be out at once. But even then thats Loki being strong enough to open the gate himself using some of Lucy's power to keep it open for a substantial period of time. If Natsu's fire has a will of its own and could choose when and which attacks to use without any of Natsu's effort (other than his magic power) then it would be a good metaphor. Lucy's abilities is basically like a bunch of summoning jutsu. Her magic is used to summon but everything else is left up to the summoning. Well at least, in naruto, the summoner is still the main fighter and makes most of the big decisions. Lucy just be like...well ive done my part, ill sit and wait

I agree with the natsu powerups, but saying Lucy's "spirits do all the work" is the same as "natsu's fire does all the work" is a tad bit overstretching the point considering Natsu does actually get his hands dirty and he does the actual fighting, sometimes he doesn't even use his fire and relies on pure martial arts while Lucy kind of leaves it all up to her celestial spirits. If natsu's fire had a conscience of its own, then your point would be very valid. I will also say that later on, Lucy does improve a lot and does start to use her magic the correct way, she also starts to get her hands dirty which is really nice magic development on her part.

Oh, I’ve watched the whole show already. She also has the whip she uses. She does fight herself sometimes as well. I also actually really don’t like what they do with Lucy’s magic later on. Felt like a way to just appease her haters. And I’m not even a Lucy fan, but it was super apparent that’s what was going on there.

@Thotty_dagod yeah that's my bad for not wording my comment correctly. I basically meant that she provides them a way to come into the real world without them using their magic power and is able to have them stay for a decent period of time. Like you said Loke sometimes uses his own magic to go back and forth so at that point any dubs he takes all him but I will give Lucy some credit for dubs when she summons her spirits. Either way most of the time the spirits are doing the majority of the work with Lucy hoping for the best.

Nope he only gave her the knowledge of the spell , lucy used her own magic energy and she didn't have that much left that's why the spell wasn't strong enough to knock out Angel for at least a moment. That's why Lucy asked herself if she used all her magic because ( she was right she just didn't remember what she did that used all her magic) Virgo had to open her gate by herself.
