The Most Animalistic Shikai: NOZARASHI (Exposed to the Wilds) By stating the command, "Drink", Kenpachi can activate Nozarashi's Shikai form. Nozarashi's released form resembles a gigantic axe, with enough cutting power to slice through practically anything. Its cutting power is greatly enhanced, allowing Kenpachi to effortlessly cut through the bodies of his opponents and even through meteor and space itself. Regarding the title of the episode, Unohana back in Episode 10: “During our battle, we both experienced a sense of joy such as we’d never felt. The difference was, you found joy fighting on the Edge, instead of fighting to win, you learned that fighting me, and that is my sin. Everyone you’d ever met had been weaker than you. You had to run out of enemies to test your sword against. Until you met me. I was the first opponent you’d ever encountered who could rival your power. But only rival it” And now the same happens here. Gremmy is what happens when you give a Child the mind of God (Soul King) He probably could’ve imagined Kenpachi out of existence but aside from the lack of spiritual pressure, he wanted to test him out and beat him fair and square, as well as break down his hope and spirits. Last episode was simply a priority, but this as well as the next and finale (Ep 26) are high priority ones.

Even tho this is bait, whenever I see comments like this from people outside of the fandom that genuinely feel this way, it just further proves to emphasize that people only watch what appeals to them at a surface level. If it doesn’t have some of the best action animation (Sakuga) or at least involving characters they somewhat care about, their brain is turned off, even if the lore and plot is deeper than most. Latest episode that was like that as a prime example is Ep 17 regarding Komamura. And imagine thinking Rukia’s Episode is “Filler”.

Agree with wellz they have a lot to get through which is why these firsr 2 cours have seemed fast. But they’ve done this to give them loads of extra space in cours3 and 4 as Kubo has a lot he wants to add to flesh out the story

In my opinion. I think Chad is going to get some shine in the anime. Albeit it might be a small part. So I think Rob is going to get that $100. 😂 Also, I’m going to disagree on Chad having a bigger budget than Kenpachi. Chad might be in more episodes, but Kenpachi definitely has the better animated fights. Correct me if I’m wrong, the biggest fights Chad had were between Shunsui, and an Espada. Kenpachi had fights with Ichigo, Notiora, Yammy, Unahana, and Gremmy. That’s where the budget usually goes to. In saying that, I wish they would give more shine to Chad, and Inuoe. Lol

Comparing different animes, budget is a bit less of a factor. But when you're isolating it to a single anime and comparing episodes, budget is a much bigger factor. Bigger budget = less time to achieve the same animation level because you can afford more animators working on the same thing and bigger budget = you can afford more talented animators. One piece is the best example of this, the dull episodes that are 50% slideshow are that way because there are fewer people working on those episodes i.e. they're getting less allocated budget compared to big episodes like gear 5 where lots of high level animators are being hired (because more money)

This whole budget discussion is pointless because there are other factors that they’re not taking into account. For the episodes that Chad is in if Kenpachi makes an appearance then that would count as budget for him as well and vice versa. Also even though Kenpachi has better fights if Chad made a small appearance in those episodes that would count as budget for him.

nah, multiple people in the industry have said countless times budget doesn’t equal better animation. For example ep 1062 of one piece, the last 10 minutes were done mostly by 2 people (chris and vincent) and they weren’t paid more than they would usually be paid and it wouldn’t be more expensive than if they hired 10 different people to do the same amount of work.

Within your own hypothetical you're admitting that some animators cost more. They would have paid a premium for those 2 animators that wouldn't otherwise be spent. Why are most One Piece episodes 50% slideshow if they can just have 2 guys that are insane do everything for the same amount. It is 100% factual that they have to allocate budget optimally for hype episodes; otherwise every episode would be similar quality, which they aren't. I wouldn't argue that higher budget = insane increases in quality every single time but there is an objectively strong positive correlatory relationship between budget and animation quality, which is also causal.

This episode was okay. It was very good that the cartoon frames were reproduced as they were. However, it's worse than the manga because it cuts off the characters that are reacting in the scene of the meteorite and the like. Overall good but didn't live up to expectations. In the anime, I expected to add animations that could not be expressed in the manga, so I felt that there was very little. Also, the OST of the 2nd cour is very disappointing, I really like the fact that they add a new OST for each episode, but I don't like the overuse of Vasto Lorde. Vasto Lorde is a very good OST but listening to it once or twice is enough for fans and should be remade from another OG, for example Kenpachi fight was Invasion that I was hoping for. It gave me goosebumps nostalgically that "Never meant to belong" was played at the end. However, the fact that the OST used in the climax of the battle is the same all the time would be unsatisfying to anyone who sees it. Except for those meteorites and the OST and the animation this episode would be perfect

Ichigo Vs Kenpachi was technically a draw due to one gaining the power of his Zanpakuto prematurely and the other suppressing his power, while Yammy was basically off screamed as only having the most Reiatsu but as a total idiot by someone that is already known to have overwhelming Reiatsu as the battle goes on and another captain.

His main issue is continuity, keeping up with the exact things he’s written before or just completely retconning someone’s strength. The entire soul society arc is kinda BS looking back due to powerscaling. Even in the recent TYBW, we find out genryusai’s right hand man had a bankai and got absolutely worked by ichigo in the first arc WITHOUT a sword.

You’re the first one I’ve ever seen complain about Bleach’s continuity so clearly that’s not an issue. Things get retconned in everything almost all the time even without it being obvious so that’s nothing unique or new to this series. As for Chojiro, he’s simply released his Shikai and Ichigo who already had serious latent potential was trained by both Kisuke and Yoruichi unlocking a premature Shikai and Bankai, so it’s not surprising he was taken out. Aside from that, since when is getting off screened considered being wrote into a hole? Yammy was easily the biggest idiot in the whole series that just happen to have the most Reiatsu that it didn’t mean anything against full-fledged captains, one of which that already was known for having the most Reiatsu himself. As for this episode, Gremmy is literally a child with the mind of God and he wanted to test and beat Kenpachi at his own game fair and square but clearly that wasn’t going to happen, he pulled out all the stops and it was enough to prove Kenpachi can cut through anything. And as for popularity, the Strawhat only has more recognition in Japan and certain eastern countries, nowhere else. Lastly, while debates can be fun, this admittedly is just slanderous time consuming, especially with you comparing Bleach’s writing to the likes of FT, you sure as hell attacked the series when you said that BS and it doesn’t take a hardcore fan to see that.

Yeah I can agree this is the best episode of Season 2 so far, Rukia's was gorgeous for sure but really the episode's budget was mostly towards the last few mins which is unfortunate. But this episode start to finish, entirely faithful adaptation that made these panels look absolutely STUNNING, like the way they showed how much of a demon/monster Kenpachi is when he crawled out the space vacuum was crazy..And that foreshadowing, God damn that's some amazing stuff.
