The fight between gyokko and muichiro is supposed to show how op mui is. It took everything to beat UM6 whereas Muichiro beat UM5 all on his own.

Don't forget that Muichiro had to save Kotetsu and the other swordsmith from Gyokko's attack and that's how he got poisoned. If they weren't there then I believe Muichiro would've been able to escape the water prison cause the poison he got made him weaker.

They also forget Uzui was one of the weakest hashira(as cool as the dude is). But i do kinda feel like that the way it was portrayed didn't make the upper moon appear as devastating, it might just be because he didn't do nearly as much overall damage as the other two and it didn't involve characters we have a power understanding of. It kinda feels like an almost side story battle(obviously its not cuz he's upper moon and the sword).

I agree that the mark is a boost but I'm saying before he awakened his mark he was weak from the poison that he got from saving the two swordsmiths. If he didn't have to save them then he would've been able to move regularly. Basically I'm saying without the mark and with his new sword he can beat Gyokko mid-high diff but with the mark he beat him pretty much low-mid diff but more leaning towards low diff.
