One thing they never really explain in the anime that’s elaborated on in the manga is: When Tanjiro did his big one, they built this concept that people have 2 limits. The stamina limit and the life limit. When you pass the stamina limit, it becomes hard to move (What happened when Tanjiro first got his shoulder slashed and Daki crushed the whole village). But a person can manage to push past that limit if they experience an anger so intense it causes them to bleed from the eyes. During that time, Tanjiro didn’t breathe at all and if he went even one second longer to cut her head off, he would have died and would never have reached her neck. Making the point that if anger alone was enough to destroy demons, they wouldn’t have existed for thousands of years
