End of an era. Doesn't ever really feel like Will Ferrell fits in, it's really obvious he was just there to honor and help out Steve who he has a lot of respect for and I'm glad he's not around long. His replacement is WAY better and pretty much carries Season 8.

Coincidentally, the Office Ladies podcast's most recent podcast was about this episode. They actually had problems with the actors crying TOO much because the tears were real tears from actors that were sad their friend, Steve Carell, was leaving. It apparently made the editing process much more difficult to find usable takes. Great reaction, guys.

Rob I doubt any actor you meet from the Office would be offended if you told them "Michael was the majority of the laughs". they'll probably agree, Michael was the center of the show for 7 seasons. Besides Jim/Pam/Dwight, the others are basically side characters.

Evan, Joel, Jerry, and Pat are really generous people. They can see a person like Rob for the child that he is and still give him a seat at the adult table. I have never seen a dumber reactor.

Michael lying about when he leaves and not making it a big deal at all is the exact opposite of Michael every other episode where he needs to everything to have drama and be a big deal. It shows how much he’s grown and how much he loves holly. Perfect character arc.
