At first I was saying he was dumb as hell for breaking up with her but then I thought like well it actually might be smart because he’s thinking “well if I stay with her she might die sooner” because he’s in a gang and somebody could kill her at anytime like just walking home from school he can’t guarantee her safety especially with how weak he is

This. I feel like dumping her isn't his way of trying to prevent her future death, he knows that that is inevitable as long as Hakkai takes over BD, but he can prevent any current harm from happening as he knows she's safe for at least the next 12 years after he dumped her. Everyone seems to forget that she almost got hit by Taiju just a few episodes ago trying to protect Takemichi. She was definitely gonna stay on harm's way if she stayed with him.

Not all change is good change. Imagine he doesn't break up with Hina and she gets caught up in some gang shit well before the time she dies in the future. Takemichi breaking up with Hina can make sure that her death happens 12 years from then and not anytime sooner. Plus if Kisaki killed her while they were apart why wouldn't he kill her just because they're together?

Hina is better off as far from him as possible, HOWEVER... my boi dug himself a deep ass hole to climb out of with the "I like someone else. I don't like you anymore." BS.
