Animation went crazy this episode. I love Blue Lock’s artwork and themes. Makes it such an interesting sports manga. None of the “friendship bs” it’s all about competitions and who wants it this most.

This anime is really fuck teamwork. We expected Barou's level up to actually be a team player but him actually doing that made him disgusted with himself even more and made him that much motivated to do shit himself.

that saying jerry used heavily applies to soccer. one or two guys cant do everything by themselves in Soccer. what isagi calls chemical reaction has to be made with the entire team or a string of players. but even then a good defense in soccer can have games 0-0 but id say its still pretty even

It's like using teamplay to calm that sense of defeat you're feeling right now would be the easy way out because you're entrusting your dream in someone else's hands and not really changing the way you are. It relates to what Ego was saying, not taking the full feedback that you can from defeat by minimizing it and telling yourself never to give up. By doing this you are blinding yourself from the truth and never really eveolving as a person. But here Barou realized his own weakness and evolved his whole way of playing to get closer to his dream. Not making compromises or excuses.

In most anime a character like Barou would've seen the error of his ways and cooperated with the team, but the author cleverly subverts this expectation. If Barou couldn't be the main lead like Isagi then he rather be the main villain. Not only does Barou outright refuse to change his beliefs or how he plays soccer he still proclaims himself to be the king. All he did was evolve his own playstyle to actually benefit the team without changing his way.

It was like Nagi said a few episodes ago if you can’t admit defeat you’ll never feel real frustration. And all that time Barou was never really admitting defeat until now and he was able to surpass that.

Big facts .. BUT we're going for Bachira, and Reo would only play a similar role to Bachira or Isagi. He's not trash though. I expect to see him and a lot of characters to bounce back and we'll see them again in future games. This only selection round 2, right? So yeah, Reo, the Gagamaru/Raichi team, even Kuon is probably still out there too. Tons of potential

Reo is a good player all around but he doesn't have an individual skill to add to the team. In this stage because there's only a couple of players on the field the level of their individual skills is gonna be the deciding factor for who wins and Chigiri's skill definitely adds something to their team that they don't have.

Chigiri is probably the best pick out of the 3 since his speed makes him the best contender for loose balls and he can enable passed for his teammates. Kunigami only seemed good at defense because he was against Borou who: 1. wouldn’t pass to his teammates 2. Has no skill on getting the ball past people till the end if this match, even against nagi and isagi he got his shit rocked in almost every 1v1
