It's not open to interpretation it is clearly shown to us he blushes when makima says she trusts him he said he wanted to invite makima to go drink. When Himeno gave him the idea of drinking after beating the eternity devil. Himeno says he likes makima Denji who himself is in a similar boat notices it and brings it up this is not open to interpretation it is basically flat out told to you multiple times I'm not ruining anything I'm not forcing anything I'm telling you what is established already.
