Key takeaway: The Jedi never changed their methods they were always by the book. Easily predictable. The Sith evolved over time and that’s why they defeated the Jedi.

Y'all bring up good points with the whole "Doing things by the book". The real issue thats being shown is that the jedi of this era are substantially more connected to the Republic than the people. The jedi have been peacekeepers for thousands of years but before they used to have outposts in far reaching sectors and weapons that could adjust their power so they wouldn't always have to kill someone. Now the jedi changed to a pseudo-military branch of the republic and only operate a handful of big temples (even then most of jedi live at the jedi temple on Coruscant, which the damn capital). All that to say, Wellz is right. Palpatine AND the sith slowly manipulated the jedi away from the people. There have been a bunch of people OUTSIDE OF/BEFORE PALPATINE who made the jedi this way.
