BROLY

Iskander being part of willpower makes so much sense later down the line one of my favorite characters and bonds in anime

Saber's honestly the one who's morally right. She sees kingship as a responsibility. Iskandar admits it himself; he's a tyrant talking like tyrant. And Saber is speaking with the crazy idea that tyrants are bad.

Emil

Three ideological viewpoints presented on how a king should be: Saber: King who serves the people Rider: King who stands with the people Gilgamesh: King who stands above the people There is no "correct" rule, which is what makes this scene great; its very debatable.

CatchThisNut

I've learned that I can't really expect much from Rttv but damn, sometimes I'm really astounded by their lack of intelligence. I still enjoy their reactions tho

Devin B

In general what Saber wants to do isn't a bad thing at all. Just in terms of how she conducts herself as king is what Iskander is mostly criticizing her about. She was so busy trying to protect her people and always being in the frontlines that she didn't give them a chance to actually be soldiers and when she was gone they didn't know how to fend for themselves.

Devin B

Also Iskander didn't say that Saber wanted to erase herself from history. He said she wanted to erase her marks in history meaning she wants to basically get rid of the bad things that is accompanied by her legend.

Daniel Gotenks

it's funny how every reactor loves Iskander but the dude went out sad as hell without doing much in the show. so funny.

Daniel Gotenks

I enjoy their reactions too and also their lack of intelligence. It makes for very funny entertainment.

rex

why is pat tryna be like rob now i get that you hate saber but no need to unnecessarily mention it 100x in one reaction..

Kos 2

Y’all hate on Saber a little too much …

Devin B

Yeah but apparently to these guys because Rider sonned Saber they're pretty much on his side and just assuming that Saber's ideal is wrong.

Emil

You're spoiling. Also his and waver's journey was arguably the best in the show

Panda

Maki from JJK goated best girl, honorable mention to bakugo.

Devin B

Hands down Iskander and Waver had the best master servant relationship. Waver learned a lot from him and Iskander came to respect Waver.

Bbb123

AYO FUCK SABER

Kai

Saber will forever be ass in my eyes

vera

pat trying too hard

Mad4Life

This gonna be a long year.

Dino Morte

Lmaooo I’m laughing cause we know who not trash and makes it to a sequel show🤣🤣🤣🤣

Javi

Evan said I know this dumb nigga Rob watched ahead LMFAO

John Ferreira

Rob yelling facts as if he's understanding the convo lol

Javi

This scene is so good because it's so obvious that Saber is the one with the best moral viewpoint of what being a king should be but because Iskandar has such a way with words and pride in what he is it makes you side with a tyrant by the end of the conversation lmao. Regardless I think thats its obviously subjective but Saber's viewpoint isn't something that should be looked down upon, yes it's not the best thing for a person to live with regrets but it's a totally normal and empathetic reaction to have when you feel that you messed up and could've done a better justice for your people. Also plenty of villains/protagonists in anime live with regrets and go through that journey of trying to overcome it so idk why Pat is doubling down so bad on Saber for it.

Javi

Saber: Tyranny is bad Reactors: Booo

Plus, Saber is the protagonist. Urobuchi wrote her to have self-doubt and suffer for her choices all through the story while the others remain set in their views. It's all framed to shit on her even if she's right.

Anonymous

Iskandar's journey was more about his and Waver's personal journeys, not about having an awesome fight. Besides Saber, Iskandar has the biggest impact. Just look at the The Case Files of Lord El Melloi II

Devin B

Yeah idk what Pat is talking about cause there's a lot of people that live with regret and wish that they could change things. Saber wanting to change Britain's fate is her wanting to not fail her people again and it's a normal thing to want to change your mistakes.

dero45

I like how they don’t fear gil yet

Daas Nahk

Rob really understood nothing of this episode

Emil

I think it's also because Saber lacks the charisma that Rider and Gilgamesh have, so people tend to root for them over her, despite her being more 'morally righteous'

Mad4Life

37:26 wtf is wrong with Rob

HIM

What? I thought he understood quit well that this episode was all about showing why Saber is who she is, a weak pacifist that doesn't deserve to be called a "king". A saint, maybe, buy not a king. It's actually one of my (and Uroboshi's) favorite ideas about Saber; That she is more Joan of Arc than King Arthur. Rob picked up on her weaknesses early, and as much of a hater as he can be, it opened my eyes to her role in this Non-Canon story (it isn't canon to the OG content so STFU). She is a failure in this story. Fuck how you feel about her overall, THESE are her lowest moments.

Kai

@cloyce Exactly but they won't understand

Rayanh LaNansha

she's morally correct yes, but the fact remains that her ideal isn't practical. Hence why she wants a do-over in the first place.

Guy

Theres more after the title of the episode boys. Theres an after credits kinda scene\

BlueEyes1991

All 3 are wrong and right tbh.

StrawhatArcher

This is one of my favorite episodes from Fate/Zero. 3 kings from different eras discussing their ideals and what it takes to be a king. They all have their own view on what a king is. Saber is morally correct with her serving and protecting her people as a king. Iskandar connected with his people and will ride and die with them as a king. Gilgamesh stands above his people and looks down on those who aren't worthy of his presence as a king. This scene was written brilliantly. Pat and Rob don't understand Saber's point of view at all lmao.

Youngsensei

this reaction series getting real good.

Zatch

Fr kills me that as amazing as the dialogue is people act like Rider is so right and Saber is so wrong. I guess the score and structure of the convo gives that impression, but in the actual context of the convo Saber’s ideology is a completely understandable one. It’s really just interesting to see characters of different backgrounds and belief systems challenged.
