Not sure why Wellz just thinks Rudy wants to challenge or become a great power as if he's your typical shounen protagonist who wants to be hokage, wizard king etc. Rudy was just expressing relief on living a quiet life in order to avoid running into strong people like that since he's come to the conclusion that if all 3 of them fought a great power they would die. All the times we see Rudy trying to avoid fighting/conflict and yet somehow Wellz just comes to the conclusion that Rudy wants to fight one of the top 7 strongest people in their world. It's not really a big deal but you can tell Wellz still watching this like a shounen anime.

@Jeffrey Daniel Reid I think in general it's better to watch something based on what the show is portraying instead of assuming things based on other shows you watch. Like the two above said Rudy never said he wanted to be no.1 at anything or fight the strongest person. He just wants to live the life he couldn't live in his first life nothing more nothing less.

It is not clear who the hero is. It was stated that Rudi is not the hero who is going save the world, for some reason this was not mentioned in the anime. Fyi this entire story following Rudi is just a prologue to better understand the lore of this world. The actual story of the real Protagonist (Hero) comes after.

Nah, Rudy is the Protagonist, although his decendent are the “hero’s” (I put it in quotations due to the fact that if Rudy was given the chance he could’ve solved everything, especially if he kept training) that defeat the big bad.

The webnovel draft of mushoku tensei is finished and fully fan translated the light novel however has some extra chapters or some added content in the story is almost finished but a lot is not fully translated in english. The english novels are still behind with a new one coming i think each 2 months.

That be every show though like will say the most predictable way the story would go then its always the opposite and its so funny cause he swear some these shows are that predictable and they never are. Ive seen it so many times I b like " Wells you think this show is that generic, in for a shock" The curse of the Anime King cause he seen so much I understand his mindset on characters and y he'd think Rudy would seek a hokage-esque goal.
