Imma have to agree with Rob and Pat. Every single thing that these Hunters are doing takes willpower. Every second where they choose to continue the mission against these literal monsters takes willpower. It takes willpower to stay in the castle and constantly be facing death. Willpower is literally the base of the entire mission. Strategy, experience, techniques, etc, all comes after willpower. The best example of this is Knov, his willpower was crushed so he became almost useless.

Robby your definition make absolutely makes sense but the point everyone is saying, that you are missing is you’re using “willpower” as an umbrella word. You’re just attaching that word to everything that results in something good or gives a character a chance in a fight. A enemy can literally mess up and lose the fight and you’ll say it’s willpower that the hero won and not because the enemy simply messed up. You dismiss all that times when willpower failed. Uvo for example he had willpower not to betray the troupe and he relied on willpower to break Kurapika chains but realize that it wasn’t enough to win but if he used his brain more and strategized he could of won. Can't even appreciate the show and all its intricacies without rob making EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT FUCKING WiLIPoWeR. Smh, there's soooo much more to digest and comprehend and discuss in the show with every episode but what do we get without fail every reaction? Willpower this and willpower that. Even the multitude of emotions everyone in the show is going through that translate into what they do is being overshadowed by fucking willpower. He barely pays attention to the show and all he ever has to say whenever he opens his mouth is willpower. This is an amazing show not to mention smack dab in the middle of its best arc to date because of how complex it but no lets ignore all that and make every reaction about willpower. Something that isn't even mentioned by anyone in the show or even the goddamn narrator. Watch the show for what it is and stop lookin to "call" something or find somewhere to insert willpower to distract from the fact that you barely know whats even happening. Damn.

Yeah. Everybody knows that the entire cast of HxH has Willpower, but willpower ain't an excuse for not being able to analyse what happen. Willpower is relevant obviously but you can't willpower power up like other animes. Killua not being able to to beat Youpi shows how balanced the Nen power system is

Everyone has willpower except Rob who does not have the willpower to stop only contributing with "Willpower" or "WILL fucking Power". Knov was broken still had the willpower to return to see if his team was okay. Willpower is the basis of everything, but not being able to go further beyond that basic shit shows very little willpower.

Rob has literally lessened my enjoyment of the show lol I'm only still here because the rest of RTTV are great! Jerry kinda weird sometimes but it's funny. Rob is insufferable... I NEVER agree with Rob and all his willpower talk, but in this moment, just look to Knov. Granted, Knov felt Pouf's aura and that broke his will, but the rest of the team still knew they were no match power-wise compared to the royal guards. And yet, they had the willpower to go through with the mission knowing they were going into a fight they most likely wouldn't survive. Even though I agree this one time with "willpower," Hunter x Hunter's writing is so layered and well thought out that it's a diss to boil everything down to willpower. This ain't a typical shounen anime yo.

The Willpower got them into the fight and is keeping them in it. The savagery is whats making the plan actually work. They are savage enough to make plans and think on the fly with skill. The Willpower is whats making them believe in the plan and that they can succeed
