Theres like 10 different stories to why Carl was killed off from the actor firing, to gimple and Chandler's father having long term conflict to even Chandler leaking shit from the show. Personally I didnt care he was killed off his character wasnt all that great and wether people want to admit it or not it made sense.

Season 9 is amazing. I honestly think this season was not bad. The comment section here did not help at all in terms of giving yah a fair impression of what you would get from this season. I feel negativity created a bias that is hard to ignore when critiquing a show. Personally this will be my last Walking Dead reaction. No need for me to pay and watch people hating and SLEEPING (lol) on the upcoming episodes.

I agree. Season 7 & 8 were good. People just want Rick and Company to be on top all the time and they hated the fact that Negan was smarter and was able to outmaneuver Rick at every turn.

The show runner Scott gimple essentially killed Carl off because he was just about to turn 18 & he’d have to be paid as an adult actor. He lied about him being secured that job another 3 years & chandler (the actor) bought a house with his family down there as a result. He broke the news just before his 18th birthday & the fandom & the show has not been the same since. A part of my love for the show dies in this episode & the next (the only episode of the entire series that’s genuinely had me crying). But it made most people pissed off because Carl outlived Rick in the comics, all the way through to the END OF THE COMICS and had such an incredible arc after this. But I promise, Season 9 & 10 will be well worth the frustration here. I agree though, Daryl & Tara were pissing me the fuck off yet again with their bullshit

Yes this was hard, especially for the actor. BUT he now says it was the right thing. Or they should have recast him. I agree that it was. There is a HUGE time jump and Chandler, aka Carl, would not have worked. BUT S9 IS 100% TWD AND CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU GET THERE

Yes I agree, there are things the guys need to see that happen in the show, but a lot of terrible things happen too. I wonder how they will feel about the end of season 8🤔

That whole not paying cause hes 18 thing is a complete conspiracy theory which is unproven and kinda make no sense when you consider other cast. There was even other things going round involving gimple and his father not getting along for years and one involving Chandler leaking crap. What ACTUALLY happened will no doubt come out eventually.

@memi not sure why you are on this thread if you don't like the show. As far as ratings goes it took 7,000,000 hit in 7x01 after Glenn/Abe. The show hit it's low in S8., after Carl died. They changed showrunners, and S9 was the best TWD been in a long time...It's night and day different. Many folks like me that were done after S8, came back and thank goodness cause it's my fav it's ever been right now., after 4B

Ashley, I was a fan, still kinda am, just call bullshit when I see it. I watch to see how it ends, and enjoy others reactions. I didn’t think Angela King was that much better. But I do see the talented work the show runners can give, Loved it for years! We’ll see what happens.

If you look at any review site such as forbs, imdb, comic book central etc you'll see that 99% of the fanbase disagrees with you. Ratings improved drastically over season 9 and while almost every review writer was bashing seasons 7 and 8 you'd be hard-pressed to find a reviewer that bashes anything in season 9. Season 9 saved the show and that's a plain and simple fact.

You guys need to stop talking and goofing around so much. Yeah, this season isn't good, but you missed so many key parts in this episode because you weren't paying attention. Just because the season isn't good doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention because some huge plot points are going to happen over the second half of the season and you need to pay attention to understand what's happening. You would have liked this episode more than you did if you would have paid attention.

This is why we all hate Gimple-characters we love and that we have seen be incredibly strong and go through crazy stuff, now do stupid shit! This season drags on-and-on like this, episode after non-sensical episode. And Carl-this was the mid -season finale, and we were shocked. We watched this little kid turn into a College-age teen, an Gimple decides to make a plot twist by doing THIS??? Nah. No way. It’s TRASH! Just stick with it-I promise you, once they fired Gimple and Angela Kang takes over as both lead writer and showrunner, TWD returns in a BIG way. But yeah, feeling all of you. Gimple is garbage!
