Ragnar was gone for about nine to ten years. And despite Aslaug's many flaws you do have to give her credit for not only raising her kids by herself but for also making Kattegat a major trading center, since she is the ruler. Also Ragnar hanging himself is somewhat a nod at when Odin hung himself for nine days and nine nights on the tree of life Yggdrasil in order to acquire knowledge. Another good reaction, keep it up.

This. It's been ten years at the least. Ubbe was about 12 When Ragnar left and Ivar is 5 years younger than him. There is no way Ivar is only 13. He's at least 16/17, which only makes sense if around 10 years have passed. And its been forgotten that Aslaug specifically asked Floki to train Ivar to be a Viking. It's 100% thanks to her Ivar is not only alive, but is a real Viking warrior. Give credit where it's due.

Just wait guys, You will see Ivar is the most complex person on the show. That's why they had to have a brilliant actor like Alex Høgh Andersen who is from this that part of the world play him. The real Ivar anthropologist believe had whats called Brittle Bones disease and thats why they think he couldnt really walk.
